All power amps will need service at some point (the electrolytic caps
in the power supply generally need replacement after 15 to 20 years or
so) but that is not really a big on/off issue. In short, do what makes
sense to you and don't worry about it.

Before declaring the Squeezebox dead, double check your network (router,
cabling/wireless, etc.) and make sure other computers are visible to
each other. If the SB display is off it could be nothing more than a
bad ethernet cable.
Also, don't forget the check the power supply.

Guess that's the old bugaboo in pricing high-end products. It isn't
easy to pick that point between maintaining elite snobbishness and the
higher volume that comes from a lower price. In my case, $2K was just
enough the trip the circuit breaker on my snob limit switch.

Final follow up - this was submitted as a bug report and the Slimdevice
team has fixed the problem. The process to link a Flickr account to
mysqueezebox.com using Firefox on a Linux PC now works fine.
Kudos to the Squeezebox guys for a quick response.

One note of interest. I recently upgraded my wireless router from one
that supported only WEP to a WPA capable model.
The Duet works fine with both, but I had to reset the Duet and run the
configuration again in order for it to work with WPA.

They are not very expensive compared to most audio products. I think I

My SB3 is now 5 years old and going strong. I believe the most common
problem is the display losing some characters after time, but that's
hardly universal.
My Touch is a year and a half old and hasn't had any issues.

Did you try clearing the cache before starting a rescan with the new
version of SBS? I'm running Linux (FC12) but it never hurts to start
with a clean slate, regardless of OS.
