As one might expect, this was cockpit error. On version 7, I had part of

Just a suggestion Steve. As you have to re-arrange windows to take
advantage of the new bandmap. If screen real-estate is tight you can
minimize the packet window after you connect since all the useful data
appears in the Spot or Announcement window. That's what I do here.

Hi Steve,
The Packet Window did not change in V8. Did you import your
preferences (via .INI file) from V7 to V8? My Packet Window looks
exactly the same in V7 and V8.
Maybe the cluster node you're connecting to is sending out a wider
format. You can set SET/WIDTH to narrow it.

I cannot find anything in the help file, so would appreciate knowing how to

There's a dividing line between the receive and send areas of the

cursor should change to a parallel line symbol with vertical arrows.

For AR clusters, SH/W is an invalid command. You must use SH/WWV.

This weekend I decided to use the packet window of DX4WIN for the first time.
I usually use an internet browser. I use an FT-1000MP. On this rig each band
has
an "A channel" and a "B channel". Each press of the band button toggles between
"A" and "B". I usually keep one of the 2 channels cen

John,
Check your setting for Warning messages in: File | Preferences | Packet1. If
the setting is higher than 'System beep', an announcement

Interesting. I've been working on the awards file, so have been
ending and starting the program over and over. And, every time with

Yes, that is the way it used to work. In fact, the size of the "send"

liked it the old way, and wonder if there is some new functionality that
is tied to this behavior. If not, perhaps it can be either restored to the
