Re: [Dx4win] Packet window formatting
Hi Steve, The Packet Window did not change in V8. Did you import your preferences (via .INI file) from V7 to V8? My Packet Window looks exactly the same in V7 and V8. Maybe the cluster node you're connecting to is sending out a wider format. You can set SET/WIDTH to narrow it. 73 - Jim AD1C On Sat, Aug 15, 2009 at 6:26 PM, n...@aol.com wrote: I cannot find anything in the help file, so would appreciate knowing how to change the display format within the packet window. [Dx4win] Packet Window Rig Control of FT1000MP
This weekend I decided to use the packet window of DX4WIN for the first time. I usually use an internet browser. I use an FT-1000MP. On this rig each band has an A channel and a B channel. Each press of the band button toggles between A and B. I usually keep one of the 2 channels centered in the lower CW portion of the band and the other somewhere in the phone portion of the band so I can easily switch between Phone and CW. The annoying thing I noticed was that this seems to get screwed up if I double-click on a packet spot so that DX4WIN sets my VFO frequency. It seems to switch to the other channel then set it to the desired frequency. It took me awhile to figure out why my A and B channels were getting screwed up. Does anyone know if there is some configuration item somewhere that will change this behavior?
[Dx4win] Packet Window Rig Control of FT1000MP
If I am using stacking register A right now in the Phone portion of the band and I have the B stacking register loaded with something in the CW band, then why does DX4WIN change the B stacking register next time I click on a spot (or at least that's what it appears to do). I would expect it to set the frequency of the current stacking register, not switch to the other one and change frequency. I guess I can sorta understand why the software programmer may have done that, but it sure doesn't match the way I use these registers. If I remember correctly, WriteLog doesn't seem to do it this way. - Original Message - From: Bruce Meier [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Mon, 11 Oct 2004 05:38:37 -0500 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Packet Window Rig Control of FT1000MP Kelly, Your FT1000 and DX4WIN are both working correctly and there is no config change available. On Ten-Tec and ICOM radios, it switches the frequency on the currently assigned register. With my Omni VI+ and now with my Orion, I often move to the band/range (BSR) where the spot is going to point me and then click the spot. That way I don't screw up the other 3 registers for that band. Other times I'm in a hurry and just go back and fix it later if it steps on one of my preferred settings. 73, Duane On Mon, 11 Oct 2004 07:24:41 -0800 [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: If I am using stacking register A right now in the Phone portion of the band and I have the B stacking register loaded with something in the CW band, then why does DX4WIN change the B stacking register next time I click on a spot (or at least that's what it appears to do). Yes, that is the way it used to work. In fact, the size of the send window is also lost if you click on Maximize and then Restore. I liked it the old way, and wonder if there is some new functionality that is tied to this behavior. If not, perhaps it can be either restored to the previous behavior, which I prefer over the current way. 73 - Dave N3RD On 9 Feb 2003 at 7:07, Ted Sarah - W8TTS wrote: If I remember correctly, in the 5.x version if I made the send part (bottom) of the Packet Window smaller it stayed that way when I exited and restarted DX4Win. [Dx4win] Packet Window Weirdness
For some reason my packet window started acting up earlier this evening. For as long as I can remember I could enter a packet line, like a talk line, hit enter, and the line I just typed would disappear (move up) and the entry line would be blank, ready for the next line. Now, I type a line, hit enter and the cursor moves to the next line and eventually out of sight. Any suggestions on how I get the correct functioning back. 73 and thanks, Fred/NA2U CWMAN...I'D RATHER WORK CW!!! Je mange donc je suis.
