The transceive problem didn't seem to exist on any older non-synthesized
transceiver that I have used, including FT-101 series, TS-520/820 and
later, KW Electronics KW-2000E. these were all '70s era transceivers.

Is there a way to put the KAT500 in bypass when on certain bands? Use case is
SteppIR on AN1 and auto tracking, and HQ antenna on ANT2 that requires tune
adjustment and memories. KAT500 is getting band/QRG telemetry via cat from

Ronnie,
As the gang has said you can use N1MM and select KX3 as the rig.
as a bonus, you may find these N1MM CW macros useful in your operation. you
can change the # (serial number) out with.. say Wherever you are, for instance
5nn on Oahu HI.. or on SOTA NAXXX... and they can be very useful.
Of course.. My bigger concern is the sand that squeaked through the opening in
the plastic lens and the case.. and sand is in the lcd.. going to need to be
very careful with that.

I'm planning on removing the lens and vacuum out the radio, in particular the
LCD, and will carefully blow off then use screen cleaner on the plastic. But a
lot of this can be avoided with a simple gasket filling the lens gap.
Thanks

for an amazing qrp experience. I hope
I can figure a way to keep more of the sand and dust out of the rig in the
future via some sort of gasket or seal.

Hi Wayne.
This post got me wondering: any chance the KX3's "Pitch" AFX mode can be
implemented on the K3?
My KX3 was my daily driver for a long time, but I upgraded to a K3 last
year - dual receivers, etc., amazing rig... but I do miss that AFX "Pitch"

Ya no campfires.. but this is a good time for Juniper campground at Mt Diablo..
get some elevation on that qrp signal.. SOTA W6/CC-045. you can drive right
up to your camp area..

I think what Wayne was actually saying (correct me if im wrong) is that people
tend to forget and camp on 125, yesterday there were 3/4 stations having qso's
simultaneously. Find a run qrg up band, periodically dropping down and calling
on 125.. the SSB calling frequency, and announce your up
a few months I am assuming something is
concerning you and a phone call to elecraft support would probably give you a
comfort level.

bigger kits are more K3 friendly with pelican
cases and such for all the accessories. But I have been dying to play with the
KX2 and with the primary focus on the kids the mini KX2 kit it is this time...
but I will probably bring the buddipole as well.
Should be fun!

wires as well as a

That’s horrible William. So sorry for you loss.
I am sure many in this great community will rally to assist if needed OM.
That is really scary. Can you imagine how many go-pro packs are in every
airplane headed to a vacation destination..
Wow.

that are the problem at this point.
Perhaps I will research better cases, and perhaps so discussions with Rose are
in order as well (thanks for your email as well Rose). Just trying to keep
everything as compact as possible.
Truly a wonderful group of supporters out here!!

Howie are you guys gonna make one without the protective handles? Just
wonderin.. its gonna be hard to stuff it into the stock bag, heatsink may fit
but definitely not the handles. I am sure they are great for added knob
protection just unfortunately at the expense of the travel footprint.
Sounds like kit-building isn't for you.
QRPLabs kits are some of the finest, best-value kits in amateur radio. As
an experienced kit builder, I give them a ringing endorsement.
I'm not alone:
