Previously there was a K3 for sale here, and a question was brought up
as to the validity of the seller. This was the rig with the son selling
for his father. The son was out of the US when he posted the ad on
Craig's list, which is why it showed as not from the US. The father's
there are many folks committing Internet fraud, and the savvy users
on this reflector are just trying to help prevent a ripoff.

Now that the K3 is ordered, (6 more days till I get it, and counting), I
am getting things ready for it.
I have an LDG AT-1000 PRO II tuner I used on my Icom Pro 3, post amp.
There was a nice cable for the Icom, so that all I had to do was to hit
the tune button on the Icom, and

Thanks for the thought, I think the issue, at least for me, is more one
of inexperience with the K3 than tech knowledge. I used to be Asst
Chief Engineer for a TV station, for around 20 years, and have been a
ham for well on 40 years now... So tech issues don't worry me too much
I know that if I try full breakin with the Pro3, I get the first
character chopped a bit...
Which brings up my solution to all of this for the Pro3...
I do not run breakin. I set the delay for T/R switching to about .5
seconds. That keeps the transmitter keyed all the time I am sending...

think about what it was...
As soon as I played it in my head, I knew... I have noticed that of

There is no question the K3 is a better receiver than the Pro 3; period!
Overall I can hear things on the K3 I was not able to hear on the Pro 3.

Thank you for the help here! The NR showing N/A was caused by my having
the AGC off. I was unaware that killed the NR.
The feedback problem is not that simple... I believe it is feeding back
via the sound card... More as I narrow it down. Not a simple matter of
having the audio up...

low frequency sort of wha wha sound which modulates along with the
normal voice signal.
I have heard this before as well, and had a friend describe it as
typical Icom, which leaves me in the dark about what it is,

Does anyone have an example Hex command being fired off to a K3 from a
MixW Macro they could send me please?
I used to have a set of macros for MixW and my Pro 3, and want to
recreate them. I can send hex out from MixW, so I want to see if I can
do some control via MixW Macros.

A friend of mine mentioned that the screws used in Icom radios and such
were some special type... He even bought some special screwdriver for
them... Something about the heads being slightly different from normal
Phillips head. Any one know if this is true?
