I use an Elecraft speaker for main and an inexpensive tinny speaker for the sub

Those types of headphone distribution amps can often be found at music stores,
like Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc. They might also have some compact amps with
speakers, too.

I don't have a K3, or K3S... but if I did, I'd order from Elecraft. After all,
if it were not for Elecraft, Inrad would not be making them.
Paying a bit extra to Elecraft is a way to say "thank you" for their wonderful
products, and their outstanding customer service.

That's telling me that six meters could be a valuable band during Field Day.
Consider having at least a dipole antenna that can to put into service. If the
E-clouds are active, participants could pick up quite a few points in a band

So much for "Nothing new under the sun". ;) This news could be huge for the

Hi Gang:
I'll add my agreement with what other professionals have said. And, I'm a
retired Technical Supervisor for Audio and Post Production at CBS-TV. We had a

for those rare times I use a voice mode. Most of
Well, certainly, the handwriting was on the wall when you could no longer
purchase a 4-band K1. That said, I feel bad for Perley, who was saving up to
get one. At this point, I suspect he will have to go in a different direction,
if he wants a rig to construct himself. He's pretty much said
I put in a vote for the Ham Central Terminal, too. I have one for my KX3, and
it makes operating (especially in a contest) very easy. Certainly, the SideKar
series would work as well.

It's certainly a strange situation, reaching the "band edge" at 53 MHz. I'll
have to admit, I've never tuned up that high in the band to see if I have the
same situation with my KX3. I know that there are a number of repeaters here
in EPA, and I'm sure some must be using that last MHz of the

Well, now and then I'm disappointed that I don't have a permanent shack.
However, after hearing some of those lightning stories there's certainly an
additional plus side to being a portable-only QRP operator. All my gear is
disconnected from the AC mains, don't have any
I say that the Yaesu FT-817 is king of the hill. Over 250,000 sold, and still
