Not at all, Bob. This is very definitely a technical reflector
with emphasis on the Elecraft radios. However, I might point out
that contesting is not just operating, it has a very technical
base. Many excellent contest operators operator from stations
that are very technically sound, even
I will definitely be checking 15 during the day.
I see we had sunspots in the low 30s yesterday,
so perhaps something interesting will happen after all.
See you all in the contest.

Thanks to the generosity of Don, W6CZ, I have the loan of
an Icom R75 receiver to try my hand at SO2R operation with
my K2.
I remember someone else was doing a similar thing. I'd like
to exchange ideas and questions with anyone else doing this.
Particularly about switching issues.
Fortunately
Hi Bruce
No, Ant1/Ant2 is for selecting two main antennas.
You have a menu option for R2 On/Off, or you can
program one of the two option buttons to select
the R2 On/Off menu item, then just punch the
top left panel button to toggle between On and Off.
I find that faster than turning the knob.
Fred
You should be able to select Kenwood as the radio
type and have it control the K2.
Good luck and 73

This is normal, Ken.
A good DSP filter has exactly the characteristics you describe.
When I use Spectrogram to adjust my crystal filters, I first set the
DSP to the desired bandwidth, then the XFIL, then do the adjustment
until I get the best looking curve.
Good luck and 73

Best looking curve?? Can you elaborate Bob? It has been a while
since I set mine up and I have adjusted the sidetone somewhat to peak
Hello Mike
Interesting idea for your big panel controls.
My suggestions are separate selection and indicators for FIL1 through FIL4
and AF1 through AF4, R2 ON/OFF with indicator, a RIT control with zero
center
detent, TEST/CW/USB/LSB on separate buttons, ANT1/ANT2 a separate button
from the TUNE

You could consider making a 5 dB pad that also
matchs from 50 to 75 ohms. 5 dB would not
sacrifice too much sensitivity, and it would be
very broadband, being nothing but three resisters.
Good luck and 73

Some buttons are not available for the FastPlay option.
45 means just buttons 4 and 5 can be programmed. 458
means buttons 4, 5 and 8 can be programmed. 23 means 2 and
3 can be programmed.
Good luck and 73
