For what is lts worth you can get a 2500ppr encoder for 30usd from my servo

Or a a 5000ppr.
Or you can go absolute. And get a 13 something ppr encoder. They are

And it just worked.
So big thing that I missed is axis needs the glade files to be named.
.uiEg. "yourfilename.ui"
Gmoccapy works for with..glade files.
Re

if I rename the files to.ui files glade vcp files work fine in axis

Thanks everyone.
I also messaged yaskawa support and they agree it should be analog control.
Looks like velocity control works on cn1. Pin 5 and 6.and torque control
works on cn1 pin 9 and 10
I'll check out the machine and double check they are using either of those
pins.

Sweet. I have 8 big servo drives for all my machines turning up tomorrow I
think finally. Will be so good to get my cnc lathe and second cnc mill
working.
So I'll be asking a lot of questions about linuxcnc again soon I think.

Gene.
Just so you know.
F7 hotkey on keyboard turns on mist. (when button is greyed out in auto
mode in axis 2.8)
F8 turns on main water coolant.
That all works perfectly perfect

I have heard that you can't use just any parallel port cable as some have
the wires crossed inside

hey everyone
does anyone know anything about this video?

I can't find the build thread
would be good to learn a bit from this retro as i want to make one of my
cnc mills into a 5 axis
regards
Andrew
stuff from stock
standard linuxcnc
that would suck if I lost that and had to do some silly arduino stuff what
was not real time and just a pain

thanks peter
and just to confirm
is there any possibility of using the 7i77 for this? I am just a bit cagey
to connect up if it is not optically isolated as I have a 30 years old
fanuc vfd I am connecting to and I really don't want to blow it up lol

just another question for peter
can you just confirm how the 7i77 and 7i77 spindle controls differ please.
and if I connect up a spinx1 board do I need flash a pin file into the 6i25
or should it just work with the stock 6i52x7i77 config regards

hey guys
just had a look at path pilot and it looks like linuxcnc has a 1000block
lookahead
they also claim it is good for high speed machining
just wondering how much of this is just stock linuxcnc and how much they
have added
cheers
