If you told us more specific you would get better answers.
eg size of steppers, driver type, voltage of power supply
type of lead screw and acceleration settings would be a
good start.

I am trying to help someone on cnc zone to use M100 but I don't
understand the manual desription nor can I find anything in the wiki to help.

Yes Dave that command will make it work next time you reboot.
The original problem is that Ubuntu 8.04 doesn't always detect the floppy drive
on first set up.
so what you did was forced it to load the floppy module (so the floppy works)
and now you will tell it to always load that module on start

There is Modbus support in Classicladder 7.124 which is in CVS (unreleased but
downloadable). I have used it to communicate with a VFD over the serial port
using a converter to RS485 .

I would bet your freqrol would work fine on single phase.
Also the whole machine may depend on two legs being powered. For instance my
Okuma lathe has single phase transformers wired to two legs- so if you don't
power both those legs it wont work.

What version of emc2 are you using? There was some quirks with stepconf on
earlier versions-make sure you have the latest version.
The latency test is not really to see how slow/fast your computer is, it is to
see how late it is on scheduled tasks.

By the way how does autogen fit in the process as I see a autogen script. sigh

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by handle not in sync with movement
when talking about moving fast and long distances.
If I was moving 24.005 inches I would add 24.005 inches to the distance on
the readout and start cranking till it was close to that position. I would
expect the machin
How about:
IF following error is large (set by user?)
AND handwheel counts have stopped increasing/decreasing for a short time (1/4 second? user set?)
THEN stop the axis.
Then slower hand moves will still move exactly (because small follow error) and very fast moves will stop before trouble arrive
g and don't want to make a mess of anything.
I must say it is exciting to produce something that other people find useful.

I'm having a problem moving an axis in mdi mode. This has just happenned recently-meaning I could move the axis before.
If I jog the axis it moves fine.
If I go to mdi and enter 'G0 X1' an error of ' linear movement error -2 out of bounds' occurs
