It might be possible that the pages continuing to print are those that
have
already been sent to the printer. A home inkjet (Epson 660) seems to
hold
about half a page in its own internal memory - so if I cancel a job after
I actaully have a corrupted download and am trying again. The question i
have is: How can I use this md5 checksum to check an iso once it is burnt
to CD? Some programs seem to add padding which makes them fail their own
check facility - xcdroast was one.

have a look at win4lin. Someone may know if it handles wpoffice, but
should do so. Does work with msoffice, and is much faster than vmware -
also can trial to see if its what you want.

works fine. I get an error message when I run modprobe that says 'Note:
conf.modules is more recent than modules.dep' but if I follow modprobe with
the aic7xxx it loads fine. What am I doing wrong here?

Have you checked lilo.conf or grubs menu.lst (whichever yu are using) -
sounds like the install program detected it and set it up to init the
card before booting.

knowlege to control it, the more damage they can do. Dont confuse the
design decisions made by MS with being unsophisticated, it is often VERY
sohpisticated under the hood, particularly in gui design, where kde
(which I use) and gnome (urk) are playing catchup.

Whats happened is early (most?) kde apps require that specific version
to run, which Mandrake supplies, but not the headers etc needed to build
it. The instructions for setting the environment were all in the qt tar
file, tho somewhat cryptic.

Wrong quotes - use single backquotes (`) which in the webmail client I am
using are not obvious (the one on the key next to the "1" key in other
words. These tell the shell to execute the string within and replace the

I had the same problem when the xwin32 machine was upgraded to win2000
at work. Its no longer picking up the correct keyboard map. Use the
Xwin32 utility and change the keyboard from auto to 101 or whatever.
Took a couple of goes before I found the best selection. Good luck

Not OK. You have only edited the config file - you need to run depmod
-a ("man depmod", modules are a real pain!) to read the new config and
write to to the dependencies file (note that most distro's run this
command in the initscripts on boot, so reboot will also work.)

I used adduser from menu on kde. Bit of a dud app tho and not
intuitive. use "edit group audio" and add the user there as well as
"edit user" and save, it took then!
