Both these recent cases with these elders in the Fairfield meditating 
community, friends and folks immediately came out of the community to help.  
Real quick in the assessment of circumstance that sent these cases to the 
emergency rooms at hospitals as friends and then some family arrived the 
questions arose as to who has medical power of attorney for them in either case 
and then who might be power of attorney for their welfare. It was not clear in 
either case initially. They both are with things enough that it is being worked 
out for them with them. That does not always or necessarily happen in these 
kinds of circumstance.  We have a pretty good community this way in the 
Fairfield meditating community.

tumor and they're doing a biopsy surgerytomorrow morning at 11:15 central time

shrunk or removed, it may relieve some of the debilitating symptoms he's been

One big reason why I said the "news dump" meme doesn't apply to the Comey email 
story: 

 The strange turn in the race found vivid expression on the Sunday news 
programs, where surrogates for Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump abandoned their usual 
messages and battled instead over Mr. Comey’s conduct and his personal 
credibility — with only scant insight into the substance behind his 
announcement.

 Comey knew this would be such a big story that the usual Friday "news dump"

They didn't care that it was a Friday; they went all-out. And you can see from 
the flood of comments from officials and political figures that they picked up 
on it right away, Friday or no Friday.
 

 Actually, there's a third reason this was an exception: This close to an 
election, folks are paying much closer attention to the news no matter when it 
comes out. And this will still be hot when Monday comes around, so it won't be 
neglected at the water cooler.
 

 Comey's not a fool. He was well aware of what would happen, and he knew the 
fact that it was Friday wouldn't make enough difference to matter.

Even the local election is a pain in the ass.  Every day the mail 
carrier has to deliver a fist load of mailings from supporters of this 
and that city and county candidate and supporters of propositions. I got 
no less than seven of those yesterday. It's enough to make one write in 
"none of the above" for the candidates and "no" on most of propositions.


Yup, this may well be the last days of the republic.
