My guess would have been that he/she drew blood from the neck, otherwise it wouldn't have been shaved; and gave your husband some clavamox (needs refrigeration; clindamycin doesn't). Clavamox is so commonly given. And I usually give B-12 shots under the skin at the back of the neck, sort of.

For skin problems, I use Golden Seal or Gentian VIolet. My grandmother told us about gentian violet for ringworm,back in the 50's. I've never seen it not work. But it's messy, I always have to be careful about getting this purple stuff on so that it doesn't make a mess. Drug stores here

Hi Barbara - that's interesting! I use Golden Seal, and love it. I don't know much about it's use internally, but do use it as a mouth wash, and have recently used it on my kitties as a mouth wash. Course the kitty swallowed it, but hey, that's all right, I just don't know much about it.

If you put kids in place of animals', well - you wouldn't have breeders (uh in the way that we do for cats), they wouldn't have a city organization devoted to euthanizing (sometimes inhumainely), or they wouldn't be running loose on the street clawing thru the garbage - well not as much.
