Use the True Type fonts and double click on them and that should bring up Font
Book. Then install them.
As for the templates and stuff….. you'd put them in ~/Library/Application
Support/MakeMusic/Finale 2011/

FYI you can, from Finder, Go->Go To Folder then type in Library (assuming you
are in your home directory)
And if you want to unhide the Library folder, do this from the Terminal
chflags nohidden Library

You'd be wise to start using time machine. It is a wonderful and free
backup program that has saved my bacon many...many times now.

Seriously? One can go buy a 2 terrabyte hard drive for well under $100
(around $60).
Why not treat yourself to a new HD in addition to the new software?

I haven't seen any major issues with the articulations font and 2012
finale. Some really old files that seem to use the BDFont (maestro)
were messed up for me.
Did you manually move all the FAN files into the Finale 2012 folders?

Things that are "improved" really should have been in 2011 updates. But then
again this is the company that, for one of it's updates to Finale, lauded that
it could put the copyright symbol in for you. Yep. That was one of the
"features" in Finale 2006 if I remembe
me in any way.
Good review of a lackluster product.

When I do big band charts, drummers complain that there is too much
stuff in the part. They (drummers) like more sketches rather than a
literal part. Like just with ens hits, important rhythms, etc..

Can you be more vague about the keyboard? Did you mess up the settings
in audio/midi? Does it work for other programs like GarageBand?
You have to start with a correct setting in audio/midi (which is a os
x utility) then set it up in finale.
