Having decided to recreate my font libary from the ground up I've hit a couple

How to I specify that the 'b' in Eb or Bb is closer to the E or B?
I can get the other symbols as close as I like but is it possible to specify
that the 'ø' say in Aø is closer to the 'A' than in Abø

Patrick,
Your lackadaisical attitude towards cautionary accidentals will lead to many
misinterpretations of your music.
I find that the cautionary accidentals leave little to speculation as to
whether a note continues to be a flat , natural, or sharp and eliminates major
confusion for the

Cautionary accidentals are necessary to avoid any confusion about the pitch
of a note, thank you very much! Don't be lazy!

Dear Patrick,
On a more positive note, I have seen many published scores of music written in
the last hundred years wherein the particular notation conventions that are in
play are displayed on separate first pages of the published music that leave

Ah.. stupidly I did know how to do this..
What I was asking then was how to use the slash as the shortcut for a different

I prefer the bass to be below - scans more neatly to me. I know the alternate

sorry linda, don't have a solution/answer, but in any case, wouldn't
it be easier to use text expressions? unless you absolutely need
centred or justified texts, the expresison tool has lots of powerful
settings that can automate your life for you...
If you really need to enter measure-attached text blocks, make sure to
use Scroll View.

Hi Linda,
I answered this for you last time you asked. If you double-click with the text
tool and nothing happens, you need to redraw the screen (shortcut is cmd-R on
Mac). You will see the handle for the empty text box you just created --
double-click on the handle to edit.
And please
Also, Jef is right that there is absolutely no reason to be using
measure-attached text blocks, they are entirely obsolete. You should use the
expression tool for that. You should only ever use the text tool for
page-attached text blocks. Switching to the expression tool for
