I've downloaded the binaries for OpenOffice (openoffice-1.0.3_2.tgz) but
now I'm not sure how to install this tgz file.
Can I use pkg_add openoffice-1.0.3_2 and if so, where do I place the tgz
file?
Or must I use another way?
-(there's no install file in the tgz)-

Reading about sylpheed on this mailinglist I got curious.
My CLI favo client is mutt, but in X I use kmail. It starts rather slow,
'cause I'm not running kde but fvwm. It *does* show however my received
html E-mails (newspapers and so on).
After some googling I get the impression that sylpheed
Inspecting the /usr directory I came across a 10MB file called
restoresymtable
Anybody got some idea where this came from?
Can I safely delete it?
How could it be created in the first place?

Is that enough? Shouldn't this be portupgrade -rRa ?

I checked the manual and google but can't find anything on overburning a
CDR with burncd (fbsd-4.8).
I don't like it when *almost* at the end of my CDR the .iso just not
fits. It sometimes is just a little, but still.. ;-((
Now I have to switch to windows to overburn my cdr's.
I shouldn't have

I believe you can if you fixate it at the end.
Sure I fixate
Is it possible to have both gnome 1.4 and Gnome2 installed on my fbsd4.7
system?
The reason I ask is that I saw a special Galeon version for gnome2 in
/usr/ports.
So, if I want Gnome2 how do I go from here? Some parts of gnome1 are
installed at this moment to support mozilla / galeon

Some time ago a thread mentioned java was not working w/ opera 6.1.
If enabled, it disabled itself again and again.
People had no answer for this behaviour.
Today I checked the X output, running opera and found:

Disabling java due to potentional dangers.

I've read somewhere that after a cvsup of my /usr/ports is is wise to
run portsdb -Uu, maybe even followed by a pkgdb -F
Is this really true? Especially portsdb takes quit some time to run, so
if it's ok not to run.. ;-))

I want to upgrade kde3 through the /usr/ports to version 3.0.5
It says that I have to delete kdelibs, kdebase and kdenetworks.
On the kde site people state these are the only parts that are renewed
to a higher version, BUT the other packages have been *rebuild* !
Now, if I use the port update,
Just upgraded to kde 3.0.5 (via ports) and now both java and javascript
doesn work anymore. Options are set but nothing happens..
It did work in kde 3.0.4
How can I revers the upgrade (if needed)? Just undelete all kde packages
and then pkg_add -r kde or what?
