I discovered a bug in newly compiled command.com from cvs.
Redirected output to a file isn't possible.

But redirecting to a file really doesn't work (see my previous post)

works. It even works by using kernel build 2036 together with

Did someone try PloP Bootmanager.
Looks good from its description and it will soon be able to boot from

Hi all,
At first thanks to all for your mails. This shows you are still ready
for a normal discussion, as Eric has already mentioned in the last thread.
That's because I think it would be a good idea to start a new thread for
FreeDOS memory management, which is beside the other free tools the mos

I tested this morning.
It works fine for floppys and ramdisks (srdisk and xfdisk).

As a suggestion from Eric I also tried X=A000-EFFF to completely disable

It only works if I completely disable EMM386.
That shows that the error is not be looked for in HIMEM.

There you will find an application called bootdisk2bootstick v0.8.

The only problem is that the usb stick is only 1.44MB in size after
that, but it is bootable.

Hi Giorgos,
Virtual Box is working well.
It is fast - nearly as fast as virtual pc 2007.
In emulating FreeDOS there is no problem at all.
There seem to be some issues with acpi but that is irrelevant for using
freedos in most cases.
The binary you can get from virtualbox.org is only free for priv

Yes, it does.
Keep in mind, that you load these shared folder drivers included in VPC
2004 before any emm386 in config.sys.
Otherwise you will get an exception error.
