Well first off, the manual should address all of this, but providing
you're doing the above, there's a prob with the way you're starting the
game. And the game shouldn't allow you to start this way, and it the
should tell you that... I don't know why it isn't...

I don't know the exact number of the maps, but i know that you have more than
one episode, i believe 3 or 4, each episode has about 7 maps.
Regarding the impulses, there are two rtf documents in jq's folder which tells
you in great detail the impulses, and what they do.

Yes, it'll play the same demo, but actually you can use other weapons other
than the first nine.
You won't notice changes in the actual quake (e.g. other footsteps sound),
because jq is not a full quake modification, it is like an extension, it allows
you to use
different weapons, like light
