Re: [Audyssey] Jim's Monopoly question
Hi Dark, My Monopoly game does have a tour board feature. Actually two versions, one regular and one quick tour. Just arrow down twice from the roll dice option. There is also a check assets option. Just arrow down once from the roll dice option. Having a what the dice roll option would or could be a total cheat. I'm afraid that it would be way too tempting to use. Don't you think? Re: [Audyssey] Jim's Monopoly question
Hi Jim. Yes, both the quick tour and check assets options are really handy, but once again they'd only be useable by the person actually running the program. All the other players on E-mail or wherever couldn't have access to those options. As for setting piece movement being a cheat, yes it could be used as such (though imho would be slightly pointless as the random aspects of monopoly are the things which make it fun), but would also let play by E-mail or forum games with people running the same board setup possible, which imho would make the program a lot! more fun, sinse games with multiple opponents are great, and the ability to have more of them in a correspondance fashion would be cool. Btw, you'll be pleased to know that all the kitchinsinc entries on audiogames.net are now up to date completely, with links to all accompanying files, game explanations and the correct genres. I'm slightly sorry if the nfl description is just a litle thin, as I've said before, I'm not great on sports knolidge generally, - particularly of American sports. Stil, I hope this will let more people easily find your games. Beware the Grue! Re: [Audyssey] Any accessible gambling site?
Hello Che, Many thanks for that link! Will check that out. The thing I was looking for was some casino games like blackjack or simular since it's not possible to play real poker at the poker sites anymore due to the changes they made to their poker software. I am interested in real games. Have a great day! Best regards and thanks, Christian On 2008-12-15 at 15:00 Che wrote: I use www.vip.com for all my sports gambling if that is what you are referring to. They handle a few side bets as well besides wagering on sports, but mostly it is for sports related wagering. I haven't made a deposit there in a while, so I'm not sure how they are set up for that anymore, but they have a toll free number you can call to get going. Very few banks let you use their credit cards to make a deposit directly to these sites anymore, due to congress deciding adults in the united states shouldn't be allowed to use their money as they see fit. However, there are ways around this, including western union, and merchant switching, where you buy a phantom product, then the money is moved to your wagering account. I've been making an ok profit betting on football there the past few years, and they are always prompt about sending out payments. But if you think you are going to get rich gambling online, you better think again. These guys aren't multi million dollar businesses because they lose money, so keep that in mind. If you go into it assuming you will lose what you put in, and treat it like a entertainment expense, I think that would be the best attitude to take. By the way, this site will take bets as low as fifty cents if you bet online, so it isn't like you have to risk 100 bucks every time you bet or anything. Re: [Audyssey] Intro
Hi lelia, A lot of the advice I can give you would largely depend on the specific game you were playing. If you could e-mail us with a list of titles that you are having difficulties with we could be better prepared to give you the advice you need. For example, if you were using a game like Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Pacman Talks, or Shades of Doom which all use the GMA Games Engine we would probably suggest you use the keystroke to create abraille map file which you can send to a braille printer and read. I know that feature came in handy when I first was learning to play Shades of Doom. Just do control+w and it will save a map of the level where you have been, and you can then send that map file to any braille printer. Another generic tip of advice about the games I just mentioned they also have the ability to set markers. You can drop markers that will let you know if you have visited that place before or if this is a new section of the maze/world. It is another powerful feature of the GMA Engine. The suggestions listed above were just a couple of ideas that would work for the games I just mentioned. However, as I don't know what game/games your having difficulties with I really can't be of much help. Smile. Hi, those are the exact games i needed help with meaning the pacman talks and shades of doom. i can't remember which game it is but I know that I think its control v is to mark but what is the key command for the other game? I think control v marks Shades of Doom, but what is the key command to mark for pacman talks? I keep finding myself in the same outer ring 1 on Pacman talks even though I go through those doors and land on another part of the maze. thanks for your tips that is exactly what I needed, unfortunately, I don't have a braille printer so I can't get a map. Re: [Audyssey] lone wolf game books
Hi Linsy. Your best off playing online on the site, there is a specifically designed screen reader friendly html version with text for all the skills, and the combat results table showing what damage lone wolf and his enemy take in battle. For actually recording your statistics, skills etc, you don't need the official action chart, just write them down in your favourite text editer. As for the random number table this was only a table which someone could drop a pensil on in the print version of the books to land on the numbers 1-9 or 0. Roll a D10 in Gma dice for this. HGth. He himself prefers to chat to and know the people who play his games, which is why he's keen on them not being downloaded. On the other hand, if your having attachment trouble it's probably worth your while talkint to him and perhaps some other alternative could be found, such as putting them temporarily on sendspace for you to try them. Re: [Audyssey] Question about BG games produced by Ian Humphreys.
I think he wants a personal touch on who has the games, ie he knows who has them etc. It also probably does reduce the cost of hosting the games. I am not into this but it must cost devs here some cash for each mb downloaded. Therefore if the games are small enough it makes sence not to bother with downloads. He seems to be doing this is a hobby and seems to have the time to send things. My only regret is there is not a single link to get an installer to load all his games at once. However some of his games use 16 bit installers the others don't. At 12:54 p.m. 16/12/2008, you wrote: Hi Allison, Not to my knowledge. Re: [Audyssey] Usa games?
Hi lelia, USA Games is my personal accessible games company. We have one game completed, and a couple more currently under active development. At the moment our web site is down do to a problem we encountered when moving our web site from the old server it was on to a new web server which has better download speeds, more bandwith, etc. Anyway, the technical details aren't important. Just know it is down, and we are are attempting to resolve the issues. For your information our web address is http://www.usagames.us in case you would like to check us out when we get back up and running again. Smile. Re: [Audyssey] Question about BG games produced by Ian Humphreys.
Hi, Quote It also probably does reduce the cost of hosting the games. I am not into this but it must cost devs here some cash for each mb downloaded. Therefore if the games are small enough it makes sence not to bother with downloads. End quote yes, that is true. Most web hosting companies charges a certain amount for the amount of bandwidth you use. As a result if you have a lot of e-mail, software downloads, unusually high number of people visiting your web site, etc that all adds up and takes away from your bandwidth alotment. For example, USA Games has a commercial web hosting plan that gives us quite a bit of bandwidth. I believe it is a 4 GB bandwidth alotment per month. Everytime someone visits the USA Games web site, downloads a file, or sends me e-mail via one of my USA Games mailing addresses it takes a few points off of my bandwith alotment. If I should go over 4 GB a month I would then end up owing extra money that month to pay for the extra bandwidth used. Ian doesn't strike me as the type who would want to pay for commercial grade web hosting plans, and also wouldn't like getting a bill at the end of the month if someone happened to exceed his bandwidth alotment. So this would be a very good reason why he might not want to offer downloads. Smile. Well that and card games have never been my thing. I tend to lose interest rather rapidly. Growing up my folks could rarely if ever get me to sit down to a game of cards for more than a few minutes. In fact my preferred genre of games has been pretty much ignored by most devs until recently. Ever since I discovered audio gaming four years ago I've been hoping for a true audio role-playing game in the style of Final Fantasy or even Legend of Zelda. Entombed, the flagship title from Driftwood Games, is the closest thing I've seen to what I'm looking for. Of course what with it being in its Alpha stage at the moment it's hardly surprising the demo is A. incomplete and B. more than a little buggy. Yeah, once they work out the balance issues with combat. Right at the moment if you get into a fight with more than one enemy or sometimes even just one it's almost guaranteed you're going to get your arse handed to you on a paper plate, especially since you can't heal in combat. And no, F12 apparently doesn't do that anymore. There needs to be a way of telling how many hit points you have left rather than it just sayig you get mangled or whateer. That's all well and good for atmosphere but there still needs to be a way of reading status info. - Original Message - From: Allison Mervis alliso...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Monday, December 15, 2008 6:52 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Question about BG games produced by Ian Humphreys. hmm I think I posted this already on the test list. there needs to be more damige sounds to and other things. Re: [Audyssey] Any accessible gambling site?
Yeah I'd be interested in that too. Sounds like something to try. On 12/15/08, Christian christia...@runbox.com wrote: Hello Che, Many thanks for that link! Will check that out. [Audyssey] preferred Game genres was: Question about BG games produced by Ian Humphreys.
Hi Bryan. Funnily enough that was exactly my thought when you pointed me in the direction of audiogames in late 2005. I was however pleased to find game genres such as 3D fps which I couldn't play graphically with my level of sight. then though, I started my big try through of audio games, and sinse that year I wasn't doing any work so had lots of money bought various titles to try. i remember having a bit of a guilt trip when I bought hunter, hinking why am I spending money on this type of game when I've already got it playable for me in graphical form? In the end though I just decided it was fun, and left it at that. I wonder what I wouldn't thought now with intombed on the horizon. Beware the Grue! Dark. - Original Message - From: Bryan Peterson b-peter...@hotmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2008 1:47 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Question about BG games produced by Ian Humphreys.
