I'm sorry to hear that your sapi5 text to speech engine is not working.

Forgot, I also wanted to mention that you could try installing the

Hi Charles,
Actually, Pong pre-dates the era of personal computers. The first
electronic Pong game was for the Atari 2600, and it consisted of a drab
gray screen, two black rackets, and a black ball you and your buddy
batted bak and forth. It definitely wasn't much to look at, but I guess

Hi Jim,
Yeah, despite Pong's apparent age it still has a healthy number of
followers. I have also seen my share of sample Pong games in game
programming books. It is usually demonstrated as a first full game

Hi,
Yeah, installing a from fresh Sapi install usually fixes the issues.
However, only install Sapi 5.1 if you are running 2000/XP. Installing
5.1 on Vista, which requires 5.3, might really fubar the speech for good.

the graphis simplistic, not that I could ever see those, but the sound as

Hi Bryan,
Definitely. The classic pong didn't really have sounds. Just the typical
beeps and boops of classic vidio game history. Pong and Combat have got
to be the most symplistic games ever made, but they were fun at the time
they were created. It is only now, 30years later, we can look back

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find

Hi Jim,
hello fellow listers,
This is just a note that the list moderators have recieved reports some
of your messages are very slow in reaching the list. At this time I am
unaware of what exactly is the cause of the delays in message traffic,
but I am not without a theory of what might be going on.
Hi! I would be very interested in this information as well. I don't use
nvda, but I have a friend that might benefit from it. Does nvda work with
Gmud at all?
Thanks!

Hi.
You won't get NVDA to automatically read text unless you use a client that
has a dos shell window and NVDA knows it.

Hi, try this. First, start rail racer and backup your settings to the web. Quit
out of the game when is done. Next, go to c:\program files\rail racer and
delete config.xml. Now, unzip the files from rr153Update.zip to c:\program
files\rail racer. You should then be able to load the game.

I know that already. What I was refering to is the sapisvr.exe program

Hi Thomas,
Yeah, I played the heck out of Pong on my Atari 2600. Sure the graphics were

Hi Jim,
yeah, I remember that now that you mention it. I would imagine the
reason the balls had that weird shape is do to the fact digitally
creating squares and rectangles are infinitely easier than making
rounded objects like balls, ovals, and other objects with a more rounded
appearance.

Yep, those are the controllers for pong alright. I remember them

As I recall those same controllers worked
