When I start one of my firefox profile (even in "-save-mode") it uses

I'm using other Firefox profile on the same machine and every works
without a problem; only one profile is affected.
So I don't see how hardware would have anything to do with it.

I have 8Gb RAM and this setup I had was to compile larger ebuilds like: firefox
and thunderbird
tmpfs /var/tmp/portagetmpfs defaults 0 0
The above in fstab creates
tmpfs 3.9G 39M 3.9G 1% /var/tmp/portage
When I removed my setup with
/etc/portage/package.env
/etc/portage/env/notmpfs.conf
Firefox complains it can not compile as there is not enough disk space:
* Checking for at least 4 GiB disk space at
"/var/tmp/portage/www-client/firefox-38.2.0/temp" ...
What is my best option? Go back to previous setup with package.env notmpfs.conf
or increase tmpfs to 5Gb eg:
tmpfs /var/tmp/portagetmpfs rw,size=5G 0 0

I didn't mean auto installation, even Fedora doesn't do that.
When I go to add printer the program should be able to go to vendor
web-page, find the printer driver and install it.
Thelma
as impossible. It came with
some kind of script the relied on an old/obsolete library so it was
impossible to install it.
On Fedora, script installs brother printer base on Brother source

/usr/bin/X -nolisten tcp -br -deferglyphs 16 vt07 -auth /var/run/slim.auth
Yes, I use slim to login.

Good suggestion, thanks.

I have a hard time reading text in terminal when editing *.tex files.
My background is black but the dark blue/violet text it is very hard to
see on a black background.
Recently Gentoo changed those colors, how to restore them the colors so
I can read the text on a black background.

That will work, but if they will use boot VirtualBox Windows it will
by-pass that setting.

Does anybody have an idea how to block facebook?
I'm using dd-wrt. The "access restriction" can block http but not https
and I'm not good in iptables :-/
In addition users are using VirtualBox on the network as well.

getting the
dd-wrt "access control" to recognize and block "https".
Trying to block by URL: https://www.facebook.com/ doesn't work.

Now, I can not downgrade without eth0 working.
Do I need to boot strap and downgrade or is there is easier solution?

I can not even ssh to the system as network is not working.
What to check next?

In my backup system, where VirtualBox recognizes USB devices.
user is not "lp" group and everything works.
Besides there would be other entries in USB, and there are none.

I see. OK
clinic-amd ssh # modprobe vboxpci
clinic-amd ssh # lsmod | grep vboxpci
vboxpci11672 0
vboxdrv 287977 4 vboxnetadp,vboxnetflt,vboxpci
Do I need to log OUT/IN as user?
Restarting the VirtualBox did not help.

Everybody can read the file so VirtualBox should be able to detect it.

USB printer was recognized by VirtualBox.

I had the same problem.
openssh-7.xxx (screwed up) by disabling ssh-dss key (that is what
nxserver is using).
Trying to enable the "ssh-dss" via sshd_config does not work!
So the only way to go about it is to downgrade to openssh-6.xxx

What else should I checked for?
Recently I just upgraded to "openssh-7" but that should have nothing to do with
Virtualbox and USB.
I connected the QL-570 (USB printer) to my backup machine and VirtualBox
recognize it OK
