Transfer reports from lpar to lpar

2008-03-07 Thread Gilbert Cardenas
Hello all, I am looking for ideas on ways to transfer reports/sysouts from one JES2 spool on one lpar to another lpar. The current method I am using is to use a JES offload dataset to offload the report(s) and then reload them on the other lpar. This works okay but I'm looking for an

Sorry, forgot to mention that I have been trying to get the system progs to setup NJE but for some reason, they are reluctant to do so and shared spool is definitely out of the question. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff /

Re: SMS QUESTION - DATACLAS FILTERLIST

2008-02-21 Thread Gilbert Cardenas
Willie, I throw this out just as another option but what if you defined a FILTLIST called TMMTAPE in your dataclas acs member: FILTLIST TAPE_UNITS INCLUDE('TMMTAPE') Then you could refer to that esoteric name in any jcl or started task etc. //SYSUT2 DD DSN=TAPE.BLAH(+1),

HSM ARC0923I message

Good morning all, for some time now, I have been running the following command: LIST TTOC SELECT(BOTH FAILEDRECYCLE) DSI and I have recently been getting several tapes that are listed as failed recycle. When I manually recycle them, I get most of the datasets off of the tape except for a few

I was reviewing some of the changes in the ARCCMD00 parmlib member and I do remember making a change several weeks back because there were too many tapes showing up in the excessivevoluimes list and after reviewing some IBM documentation in the HSM storage admin reference chapter 36 that said:

Rick, this does sound very much like what we are experiencing. The apar is only listed for 1.8 and 1.9 and we are on 1.7 so I will call IBM to see if this might apply to our situation as well. Thanks for the info, Gil. -- For

Since there's a buzz going on with ICETOOL, I am using ICETOOL to create a report from the SMF30 records and I am using the total= parameter to provide sections totals. I don't have a problem totaling individual fields such as SMF30CPT or SMF30CPS, however, I am deriving the duration of a job

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Mark. I could only work on it part time and I'm no REXX expert so it took me a while to modify the REXX routine to accept the dstype I was looking for and only report on those entries . The only problem I have now is that when I invoke it from TSO

Identifying GDG datasets in a deferred status

2008-01-11 Thread Gilbert Cardenas
I have created a jcl to list all the GDG datasets that are in a deferred status. Unfortunately, the jcl is lengthy and runs quite a while because I had to perform the following steps to filter out only the datasets I wanted : STEP1. Perform an IDCAMS LISTCAT UCAT ALL to a dataset to identify
