I am running 38.7.2. This said, I went for a year at one time with no

Yes you can have rules to move messages into specific folders. The only
thing to watch out for is the place where you tell it wich folder to
move the message to is a bit tricky to get work. I usually have to

what Thunderbird considers "important". You can always create a local

I tried unchecking the box for automatic update to see if it would
update to 31.0 and it did not work.
when I check the update history my version still is 24.6.0
do you have any other ideas?

I, too, have version 24 though automatic updates chweck. Check your
update history in tools:advanced:updates. Mystery!
