I agree, it's an early lace / prior to the 1600s. One of the tells is the
spangles, in that they aren't round, but tear-dropped shaped. The whole
point is to add sparkle. Imagine a gown trimmed with that lace in candle

In reference to cactus thorns - or at least the ones I've run into in the

easily go in, but catch on the way back out. Some experiences have been

Wire gimp! I wish I thought of that. I'll have to try it on my next one.
What kind of wire did you use?
Starching was such a pain, and I live in a humid climate, I'm never sure how
dry things will stay.

The ever changing news from the murky swamps of the Big Easy:
I'm on the road again, released from the temporary work assignment, back
on Admin Leave. I talked to my boss this morning, who's in Vicksburg, and it
looks like it'll be another week before the teams to restore each Parish

Sorry for the massive mailing - but it makes life a bit simpler...
Went to the house today - only took 6 hours to get there from Lafayette
(normally a 2.5 hr drive). Lots of cops and military police - had to go
through a checkpoint and produce ID. Non-residents weren't allowed in.
My
agency - who's facility we're currently camped out in.

Dearest spiders,
I packed the project I was working on at IOLI, but left my forever project at
home in New Orleans. I left yesterday and am safely camped out (with indoor
plumbing, air conditioning, dorms, fulll kitchen) near Alexandria, Louisiana.
