So sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel. I developed that after
crocheting the "urchins for Singapore harbour" in rope.

If the lace is still intact and just smoke damaged it is worth a try to
restore it by soaking and washing it to remove the smoke. I think most folks
suggest using Orvis to clean lace. I sure more folks will offer more

there was lots more room, but after I finished there is just a small amount of
space left. I think he might be going round looking for another piece of red
or green fabric to fit up above another door. There is lace on there from my
first days of lacemaking in 2001 through to this year.

Yes, I tried to get there from Liverpool on public transport, and it was not
easily possible to get to Poole or Bournemouth - not by train or coach. So
sadly I had to give up on the idea when I was in the UK in September
