Trevor,
I transcribe all my documents into the "General" section of Legacy under
Notes. I can still refer to the originals, no matter if I found them
online and downloaded them, or if I actually went to the courthouse and
copied the items related to my family. By having a full transcription in
Please, what is the best way to add a document to a persons file? It
would be an A4 size and would need to be able to be read in a Book Report

Alan,
Have you done the things in the Support article for Error 6?
<http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00206/11/Error-Messages-Problems/Error-6.html>
They might help.
Also note that Support doesn't control the order of the fixing of bug
ually displayed.

Hi there, Here is my effort to do something similar I think. I have a folder
called Genealogical Office on my Computer in which I keep every type of record
relating to family, including BMD, Census and property records, etc. All
it is at the start of info re each person.

I believe Microsoft Access database, which is base for Legacy, can print
documents out so it should be possible with legacy. Why not ask the programmers
to work on this? Declan Chalmers

You can create a "Scrapbook" (View ribbon) and include all graphics
you've linked to in your Family File. However, if you've linked

Also, from Scrapbook, you can print a Media File List so you can see a

This is not a criticism, just a question.
Since Legacy can read PDFs, why do we only get to see the standard document
clipart in Source Media, instead of a smaller version of the document like we
can with jpgs and other pictures?
Just curious,
Thanks!

Rob,
The Legacy program includes an internal picture viewer. Other file types
depend on your computer's default program to view them.

When I have a new document, photo, newspaper obituary, or anything
else I find that might relate to my family, I first enter and
transcribe it into ByGones and/or Clooz and then cut/paste relevant

Chris,
I briefly played with Clooz and Bygones many years ago, and wrote them off as
clunky and unnecessary duplication of effort. But I didn't use them long
