I thought I'd install Sweave but it's not happy at the moment.
I followed the instructions in the wiki and those that Jeff Laake wrote for
Vista but without any luck.
When trying out the Norma-01.lyx file I get the error message seen here

As the subject heading says I wondered if it was possible to use the latex
package 'parallel' in LyX? It seems to be similar in purpose to something like
ledmac.
I'm not intending to actually us it so this is just a curiosity question.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about LyX to help. However I had a quick look
at it in OpenOffice.org and assuming it imported correctly, which it seems to
have, it seems like a typically badly laid-out Word document. I can see why
any little thing could mess it up.

I did quite a bit of updating a couple of weeks ago ubuntu 16.04 to 17.04,
updated R to R version 3.4.1, and IIRC updated LyX to 2.2.2.I now cannot get
LyX to compile if I have anything in a Math environment. I am getting an error
saying “Error in library(knitr) : there is no package called ‘kni
I recently upgraded to LyX 2.2.3 as I am not doing any production work at the
moment and it seemed a good time to explore some of the new features.I have a
problem with the Rnw(knitr) module in LyX. LyX is insisting that the knitr
package does not exist and the compile aborts.R says knitr is ins
number of files with knitr
code and I would hate to have to modify them. But, at least, we now know
that LyX is talking to R which is reassuring.

after an upgrade to LyX 2.3.0 on 2018-02-24.
Can anyone hazard a guess what is going on? This does not look like a bug,
much more likely a problem in my configuration but I don't have a clue on
how to diagnose the problem.
MWE attached.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
