Phil covered selecting columns and rows comprehensively. As for VoiceOver still

you just navigate using the arrow keys alone, as is generally the better

I guess you’re talking about TextExpander Touch, right? Some iOS applications
have TextExpander support built in, so you can trigger your snippets from the

applications then you’ll need to use the TextExpander keyboard.
There were two links at the end of the article you needed to press. Read it

But basically that second link after the installation

Hi Sarah,
Unfortunately I don’t think Pages is a good tool for what you want to do. I
know of no way to do that in Pages apart from copying a paragraph or two at a

That’s why for that kind of writing I prefer to use Scrivener. It’s designed

I have noticed VoiceOver is a little overly verbose in lists. If you try and
navigate by word, VoiceOver announces you're in a list each time the cursor
moves, even if it's not going in or out of a list. I find this behaviour
annoying.

As well as or instead of formatting the cells as numerals or currency, you can
also use the ROUND() function. Using the ROUND() function is often preferable
as it ensures the actual value of the cell and its formatted value (i.e. what
is displayed) are the same. You can learn all about the
Yes it does. That's probably the best thing about it in my opinion. It's really

I actually really like the Notes app which is native to OS X. It allows for
multiple folders, good searching, seamless syncing between all your devices

files and save them in Dropbox.

It's not a bug, but that's how it works now. You should only need to interact

Hi Sarah,
Just to be clear, you need to make sure the keyboard cursor is at the top, not
the VoiceOver cursor. Sometimes in Pages, particularly when tables or track
changes get involved, the keyboard cursor and VoiceOver cursor get separated
and are in different places. So it's not enough if
HI William,
Pages is working well for me in OS 10.9. However, as Sarah said there is a
known bug with not being able to use the keyboard to select text which spans
over a page. Its very frustrating and annoying. The work around is to copy and
paste that portion of the text which is on the first

VO-shift-space sometimes works. Other times you need to bring the mouse pointer
and actually physically click the TrackPad. In yet other times you need to
bring the mouse pointer, turn VoiceOver off and then physically click the
TrackPad.

One tip is that, in my opinion, the month view is the easiest view to use for

To reply to this post,
I think the date fields have been fixed in the new version of Pages. Once you
open the popover menu with VO-SHIFT-Space you can interact with the date picker
as normal. I did this today and I think it was in a predefined date field in
the invoice template but I could be wrong on that.
Also,
I think at this stage you need to update the date manually. Some word
processors allow you to insert a last modified date, and Maybe Apple will add
this in a future update to Pages, but for now we have to manually update the
date like 20th Century fools.

Yes, Pages would work well for this, but I think Numbers might even be better,
or a combination of both. Either would do, depending on what you wanted to put
in your invoice. I believe there is even special invoice creating software that
works well on iOS—I think it was called QuickBooks or
Hi David,

Just to add, you can also click on the Insert Page Number popup menu with
ordinary old VO-Space. I've also found that while VoiceOver for me reads every
page as having the same page number, in fact this is just VoiceOver being weird
and visually each page is numbered properly with a unique
HI Aleeha,
There's nothing that I can think of which would prevent VoiceOver reading the
alt text on an image in Safari, particularly if you have VoiceOver set to
announce all images. All I can suggest is to experiment with different
browsers. Sorry I can't give you a better answer. Hopefully
I've found it works really well with VoiceOver. Pretty much everything I would

can get pretty complicated and clunky to navigate around, depending on how you
have things set up. I have a 2011 iMac with 16GB RAM as
