Yesterday I installed the fetch 5.0.3 upgrade and very shortly my system
hung. I coudn't even force quit. I pressed the power key to shut it
down. When I restarted I opened disk utilities and when I tried to
repair permissions the system hung again. I again forced the computer to
shut down,

Not to muddy the water but I am using an HP laserjet 1200 with HP's
network connector and it works just fine. I recently upgraded to 3.9 and
it still seems OK.

I have a friend that has an older ibook running Mac OS X (Jaguar, I
believe). I haven1t dealt with these models much and didn1t see anything
that would help
