I second Eric’s points. One additional one: if you get the option to embed or not embed the fonts. Always choose to embed them. Just in case. This kind of file creation is very easy in InDesign. There may be other tools that offer similar control, but I have no experience with them. Jonathan

Ward, My powerbook is more than 10 feet from the printer and when I hooked up the printer to the computer the computer could not see the printer. Undaunted, I disconnected the computer and reconnected it closer to the printer. I opened the chooser and selected the printer. The OSX desktop

Few Questions... What is the exact version of OSX that you are running? Are you connecting two computers together at the same time with a USB Hub? Is your Hub a powered hub? Have you loaded the driver for the printer in OSX? Jaguar usually has most drivers in it... but early versions do not.

I have an Epson 740 USB printer connected to the usb port of my desktop machine running OS X 1.X. Ny powerbook g4 running OS 9.2.2 can see the printer in the chooser and I can select it. When I check it out in the usb printer sharing control panel on the powerbook I can see the printer in the

Hi Harry, I may be mistaken but I don?t believe usb printer sharing under OS X became fully supported until the release of Jaguar which you are not running. Also, OS X 10.2 with printer sharing enabled does not share its usb printer in the conventional way.
