Make sure it is a “powered” hub.
Most external drives require more power than can be provided by a passive,
non-powered hub.

It could be the cable or the usb port on your Mac or the hard disk.
Though I have never come a cross a bad usb port on a Mac but on my hard disks.

itself. If yours is an older Mac though, that is most likely the issue. Restart
your mac and then plug in the drive. When you open it, give the drive a couple
minutes to load. There could also be a formatting issue.

Make sure external disks show up by using Finder Preferences, and all the
partitions should become visible.
I personally like to show all disks, i.e. check all the drives in Preferences.
This makes it easier to find them and verify they’re connected.

system preferences and selecting the drive in startup disk. Or, hold
down the option key when you hear the chime when restarting the
machine. This will give you a list of available devices to boot

Well everything for the most part worked great, as I was able to repartian the
drive in to 2 drives, one for Time Machine and one for me to back up and have
access to all of my files. Both went successful. The only problem, and I am not

Sounds like some kind of bug in tuxera. It's a commercial package. Have
you tried contacting them?

No matter i just bought a wd my book live 3 tb nas with internal 3 tb drive.
Hopefully my problem swill be gone now especially since i will be getting a

What might be the problem? Might finder not be accurate?
It is a drive ormatted with ntfs and i am using tuxera ntfs to read it.
