Dan, I have had a P22 for several years and it's a sweet little pistol. Mine is plain black and I paid too much but ammo is cheap. Like all semi's, some ammo (like subsonic) will not work but Remington Golden Bullets always worked for me. There is a lot of info online about tweaking this

The 600s has SLS. However, without looking at it I'm betting the top strut mount failed. If the rubber gets so bad on one of these that it fails, the top of the strut can literally punch through the hood. There are retainers that are supposed to prevent this, but if they're out of place or
