The aerodynamics of high speed are wildly different than the aerodynamics of highway speeds. F1 and other high speed racer designs are actually intended to create resistance in very specific ways (generating downforce for traction) while downforce is never a problem in your average grocery getter.

Kyle, if the aerodynamics were done for aethetics then why do all hybrids, and most new vehicles have the basic shape, K-back or kammback design? Remember the Prius was the first mass produced Hybrid and the Honda that came out shortly thereafter looked almost identical. Supposedly its Cg is .26. A

My cbr1000f is also water cool, 4 cylinder, has fairings (well they are a mess but they are there), and presumably carries less weight than Elio. You can't get more than 45mpg out of that bike. Here we are talking about twice as much. I know is not the same engine, but is a reference point to make

Sitting for a long time and gas goes through the carbs into the crankcase. I had a suzuki gs550 that had a crankcase full of gas and oil. It had been sitting for years. I actually started the bike before realizing it, quickly shut it off. The sound of the engine gave it away. No harm done and b
