The whole idea behind envelope budgeting is to check your bucket
balances before you spend money and having them on screen is better
than paper because they are always current. Printed reports are
constantly out of date.

MoneyWell does allow you to keep both dates. Once a transaction is
marked as Cleared or Reconciled, you can update the second date.
It also retains the original imported payee and memo data. Simply
hover your cursor over the Transactions title to see the tooltip.

AMEX works perfectly - I love American Express. That $395 a year just
keeps on paying for itself... :-)

Not at this time but since envelope budgeting is mostly about how you
are spending now, this historic feedback about over or under budget
isn't as critical.
MoneyWell will allow you to keep historic spending plans in an
upcoming release.

I was only suggesting that you can have both a current document and a
historic one because MoneyWell allows you to have more than open.
You'd still have searching and archival ability.

controls. If you make the list box taller so that the scrollbar
disappears, you'll see that the total column does move to the right to
fill the empty space that normally would include a scrollbar.
