Re: [onap-discuss] [onap-tsc] [SDNC] [SO] Hi, Here is the remain questions// summary and proposed action for SPTN WAN Model and implementation

2017-08-10 Thread yuan.yue
Hi all,

We have had a pretty good discussion on WAN connection of volte use case this
morning/last evening. Many thanks to all who help to clear the sequence,
interface among SO, SDNC, 3rd party controller also inside the SDNC. I believe
we can move forward now.

May I propose next step actions as:

1. ZhouYoa Huang submit the SDNC southband API payload for reference and
confirm northband GENERIC RESOURCE API payload with SDNC team.

2. ZTE prepare TOSCA WAN Descriptor and the content of the Descriptor should be
align with the payload of SDNC northband GENERIC RESOURCE API.

3. Discuss the WAN Descriptor with SDC/SO/SDNC teams in modeling subcommittee
to freeze the WAN Descriptor for volte usecase.

日 期 :2017年08月10日 21:12
主 题 :[onap-tsc] Hi, Here is the remain questions

Hi,

First l'd like to confirm with SDNC team on several keypoints about the
release1 volte use case WAN orchestration procedure both in design stage and
runtime:

We should use Directed Graphs portal to design WAN(L3VPN in volte use case)
orchestration graghs for SDNC and keep the design align with the L3VPN model in
Domain controllers(here 3rd party SPTN or IPRAN controller in volte usecase ).
If the original model is not expressed with DG graphs, we have no tools to
import it automatically into the SDNC.

We should design WAN descriptor in TOSCA with SDC independently and keep align
with the model in SDNC. Since the data model in SDNC is not TOSCA file nor yang
file, SDC can not import WAN model like importing VNF Descriptor in VNF case.

When instantiate volte service, SO will decompose the E2E Service Descriptor to
vIMS Descriptor, WAN Descriptor, vEPC Descriptor and send vIMS and vEPC to VFC.
There should be a module handle the WAN Descriptor. Where we intent to put this
module? in SO or SDNC? If the seed code of this module is ready or not?

After the module parse the WAN Descriptor, the parameters of L3VPN and
corresponding DG name will be extracted from the TOSCA package and send to SDNC
to trigger the DG excution of the pre-designed dericted gragh.

The pre-designed dericted gragh will call corresponding adaptors then the
adaptor will construct request with the parameters deliveried from SDNC DG, and
send request to 3rd party controller.

If my understanding is not correct, please point it out.

In summary, we have three key questions:

What kind of information should WAN Descriptor contain? L3vpn info? DG name
of SDN-C? Something else?

Which project, SO or SDNC, parse the TOSCA template?

Who will be responsible on this part of code(parse tosca template then
mapping to existing SDNC northband API)?

Best regards!

Gary's changes have been merged in and the redis image has been built.
I've added a new minion template to allow the image to come online.

Kang, all,

Sorry could not attend the meeting (which collided with the ARC meeting).

I would propose to not view the connectivity between clouds as a problem, or
use case, ONAP needs to solve. Service provides who have deployed multiple
clouds have typically also established connectivity between them, in most cases
via some type of a L2 VPN. When ONAP instantiates VNFs there is an assumption
that it can then communicate with them, e.g. for configuration or closed loop
operations, over an OAM overlay network. We do not bother showing how this OAM
network is routed, and in particular how SDNC, as an example, can communicate
with a VNF which happens to be instantiated in a remote DC. We assume whatever
underlay is need is in place which allows communicating with all VNFs over the
one OAM network.

Similarly, if two VNFs are assumed to communicate over regular IP networking
(not to be confused with service chaining), then, without loss of generality,
we can showcase them in one DC, assuming that if in real life they were to be
instantiated in two DCs, then the inter-dc connectivity already in place would
enable them to communicate just as well.

The other alternative would be that we would have to showcase each VNF in a
separate DC - to "make sure" the use case works under any deployment scenario.
This obviously does not make sense, and fortunately is also not needed for the
reasons sated above.

I would therefore submit that the vCPE use case, which instantiates all its
VNFs in a single DC, is sufficient to showcase ONAP's capability to instantiate
and manage a vCPE use case under any deployment.

Thanks,
Yoav Kluger

Hi All,

During the meeting "[integration] vCPE for R1: Support multiple clouds or not?"
(Aug. 8 11:00-11:25am EST), the attendees unanimously concluded to leave the
support for multiple clouds to the next release. For R1, the release
implementation will only target a single cloud set up.

The rationale behind the above conclusion is that multi-cloud support, while
technically feasible, would need quite some discussions to decide on multiple
issues including lab set up, network set up, work flow design, etc. Adding it
to R1 would further tighten the R1 schedule.

Re: [onap-discuss] vCPE: Consider multi-cloud support in R2

2017-08-10 Thread Yoav Kluger
Gaurav,

Performance and latency KPIs have not been defined for this use case, these
will depend on the specific VNFs selected by each operator rather than ONAP as
the MANO system.

But I do not see a reason why multiple instances of the vCPE service cannot be
brought up. They will all be instantiated in the same DC, but will run
separately.

Yoav , Kang Xi

if the below two are not goal

a.1- If performance or latency on VxLAN is not being monitored and not the
goal for individual vCPE

a.2 - Also if multiple Instances of vCPE existing at the same time is not to
be supported

Then whether vCPE is deployed across multiple DC or single DC it makes no
difference .Hence I would agree to what is described below .

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration] [bootstrap] vagrant-onap project available into Integration repo

2017-08-10 Thread Morales, Victor
Thanks for this great explanation Erick, I double-checked to my computer and I
don’t have that plugin installed and it’s using Guest Additions Version:
4.3.36. So apparently this is an issue in the way that Vagrant masks mounted
directories, isn’t it? I only think about two possible alternatives for solving
this error

1. Ensuring that vagrant-vbguest is installed but disable its auto update
feature and report that to vagrant to solve that issue. The code into the
Vagrantfile should be something like:

if not Vagrant.has_plugin?('vagrant-vbguest')
  system 'vagrant plugin install vagrant-vbguest'
raise 'vagrant-vbguest was installed but it requires to execute again'
end
config.vbguest.auto_update = false

2. Raise an error when the plugin is installed and force its uninstall

if Vagrant.has_plugin?('vagrant-vbguest')
  system 'vagrant plugin uninstall vagrant-vbguest'
raise 'vagrant-vbguest was uninstalled but it requires to execute again'
end

I would be nice to have a way to restrict the Guest Additions Version,

Thanks

Subject: RE: [onap-discuss] [integration] [bootstrap] vagrant-onap project
available into Integration repo

Here’s a summary of the issue and how I resolved / worked around it:

1. On the ‘vagrant up’, Guest Additions Version of the guest box is listed
as 4.3.36

2. My host virtual box version is 5.1.26

3. The vagrant-vbguest plugin was installed on the host, so it would mount
a newer version of the guest additions iso in the guest and install it (I
presume because it detected the older guest version).

a. The guest additions are installed in the guest /opt directory and then
links to /opt subdirectories are made for files and binaries in /sbin, etc. to
install.

4. Then, the host ./opt directory is mounted onto the guest /opt
directory. This succeeds - /opt on the guest is now shared with ./opt on the
host.

5. But, now the guest additions installed in /opt are masked by the
mounted ./opt directory from the host. Subsequent syncing (/lib, .m2, …) fails.

a. And the vagrant up fails at this point – the vm is up, but process of
bringing up mthe onap project fails

By uninstalling the vagrant-vbguest plugin on the host, a newer version of the
guest additions is not installed, so the masking of /opt in the guest does not
occur, all directories needing to sync are synced, and the bring up process is
able to continue.

Hi Eric,

Adding more documentation is always welcome so if you find something that helps
to clarify the usage of this tool I encourage to submit the patch (I submitted
a patch to generate html documentation and it also includes an installation
guide[1]). For submitting a bug, I’d need more information about it, like

Do you the log of the error messages?
Did you only have issues syncing /opt folder? What about /lib and /.m2?
What version of Guest Additions did you have?
Once that you uninstall the guest additions, are the environments provisioned
without any error?

Hello,

I’ve been trying this out (Windows 10 host, virtualbox, individual projects)
for the past couple weeks.

I ultimately found out that the source of the problems I encountered getting
synced folders/directories to work was a conflict between
the virtual box guest additions using the /opt directory of the guest and this
project syncing the /opt directory with the host. I got things to work
by uninstalling the vagrant guest additions plugin.

I’d be happy to either write up a bug report, or alternatively, add some
documentation for best known methods or tips on usage.

Any preference?

Eric

Gary's changes have been merged in and the redis image has been built.
I've added a new minion template to allow the image to come online.

The ONAP Gerrit is not configured in any way to automatically add
reviewers to a change.

There are two plugins available for doing this sort of work:

reviewers - which won't work because we use and LDAP backend for
accounts and it requires the defined auto-reviewers to be local accounts
and groups

maintainers - which the fd.io community, and Cisco in explicit,
developed for their Gerrit which utilizes a MAINTAINERS file in the repo
for managing the automatic reviewer setup. I don't recommend this one
(yet) as they're still working out the bugs in it ;)

If you've been getting added "automatically" then it would be from
someone adding you as a reviewer. If, however, you leave a review then
you're automatically added as a watcher for any future changes.

I recommend that committers aways setup watches on projects that they're
a commit for. I, and the more active LF RE's for ONAP do this for the
ci-management project.

2017-08-10 Thread Gary Wu
To my knowledge, Gerrit doesn’t automatically add reviewers to changes on
submission. However, if you add a comment/reply to a change, then it
automatically adds you as a reviewer to that change, and will notify you of any
future amendments thereof.

My understanding was that when someone submits code for review, that committers
automatically get email notification for it and also automatically get added to
the list of reviewers. However, this has been inconsistent.

Being a committer, I have noticed that sometimes I am added as a reviewer
automatically, while other times I am not. Not sure why not. I do utilize the
“watch” projects functionality so that I don’t miss something because of this
inconsistency.

Can someone from LF clarify the consistency? Or is my understanding incorrect?

On notifications: Gerrit has built-in support to send email notifications on
code changes. There are two methods:

1. The contributor can explicitly add a list of reviewers to the proposed
change, which will trigger a notification to those individuals. This should
ideally be done after all expected amendments to the change are completed, and
after Jenkins has verified the change.

2. Anyone can subscribe to be notified of changes in any particular repo,
via the “Watched Projects” section in their profile settings.

I would recommend that all committers subscribe to watch changes to the
projects for which they are committers for.

Hello

There was a code review pending since 5 days due to a lack of reviewers. I
think we should adopt some best practices to avoid such delay.
A committer should inform the PTL and a list of reviewers by mail (typically
the project committers and other people involved in the project)

OPNFV is listing all the committers (they can provide a +2 code review) in a
dedicated file INFO for each repo:

https://git.opnfv.org/functest/tree/INFO

https://git.opnfv.org/promise/tree/INFO

OPNFV also defined some rules for committers promotions and removal that should
inspire us.

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration] [bootstrap] vagrant-onap project available into Integration repo

2017-08-10 Thread Multanen, Eric W

Re: [onap-discuss] [all] [integration] [bootstrap] vagrant-onap project available into Integration repo

2017-08-10 Thread Multanen, Eric W

Eric

Subject: [onap-discuss] [all] [integration] [bootstrap] vagrant-onap project
available into Integration repo

ONAPers,

The vagrant-onap project started as an alternative to deploy ONAP services in
Virtual Machines hosted locally without the need of an OpenStack deployment.
After several changes and additions to this project, its goal has changed to
provision a Development Environment. Its current implementation support
different providers (like VirtualBox, Libvirt and OpenStack) and has been
tested in some OS(like Ubuntu, Mac OS). This is an ongoing effort to collect
instructions and standardize the methods to build and compile ONAP artifacts,
as you can expect there are many things that are still missed so I encourage to
everyone to take a look of the scripts placed into lib folder[1] and improve
the documentation[2][3]. We have plans to add more Unit Tests to this
project[4] to validate any change.

Thanks

Re: [onap-discuss] [sdc][vfc] SDC questions from VF-C

2017-08-10 Thread Yang Xu (Yang, Fixed Network)
Hi David,

Thanks for updating the table to include SDNC controller.

Regarding the WAN service, as I pointed to you before, in the TOSCA example
from Open-O sent by Huabin a while ago, there is a folder in that zip file
called underlayL3VPN_2017_03_24/Definitions/. You can see a couple yaml files
there for type definition. Please let us know if that’s good enough for you to
design WAN service in SDC.

We will have a meeting tomorrow (8/11) 10am EST, I’ll forward you the invite
and hope you can help us solving the blocking issue.

Thanks,
-Yang

Hi David,

I missed Wednesday’s meeting due to some other conflict. Has WAN service been
defined in SDC? I don’t see SDNC (the controller for WAN service) listed in the
table:

Service

Type

Category

Orchestrator/Controller

Business as usual from SO perspective: SO is doing service and resource
orchestration interfacing with SDNC/APPC/PO as needed APPC

Could you finalize the WAN service details in SDC (i.e. how PNFs and WAN
service defined in SDC)? Other modules are blocked by it.

Thanks,
-Yang

#3 – @Michael – Could you please make sure we the node type definition file(s)

hi micheal & david

 Thanks micheal

Now many advices need David to answer. If the email can reply, it
will be OK. Possible, meeting & email may be more effective way.

The service package and vnf package CSAR in the SDC catalog, please
share them. Thanks

About the parser, VFC written in python can not use the java lib
directly.

Oneway: If in the SDC can provide the REST API &
JSON output, it will be welcome for R1

The other way: the CSAR output of SDC follow the
OASIS tosca simple profile, it can be parsed by other parsers.
If the output is not standard, we
need to know which part is not standard, and can it be fixed in the R1?

[onap-discuss] [integration][holmes] How to Get Dependencies like MySQL during the Building of the Dockers?

2017-08-10 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi all,

While making dockers, we want to integrate MySQL as a part of our components.
Do we have to pull it directly from the internet or is it stored in some place
of ONAP so that we could fetch it from within?

Thanks.

[onap-discuss] TSC topic - branching/tagging for stable development/integration

2017-08-10 Thread Michael O'Brien
TSC,
In your meeting today could you discuss (I would normally attend
- but have a parallel meet)

1) how to ensure the stability of the 1.1/master branch as we add new R1
content - need E2E integration daily tests - we then deploy to
Rackspace/Openstack only TAGGED-OK builds

2) Allow developers to create feature branches on the fly

Issue: 1.1/master is sensitive to the following

-Cross repo breaking changes - like REST schema changes (these won't be
picked up in

-No ability to create shared developer branches

-Tagging known/verified working builds - across all repos (this would
require a functional test like https://jira.onap.org/browse/AAI-58 for each
team - and an integration test
The integration test will require bringing up ONAP's docker containers/volumes
(likely not on Openstack, but some sort of K8S, docker-compose/vagrant setup) -
in a Jenkins job
Work with Integration team on this - I am going to look into an integration
test.

Upcoming Scenario: (Tian Lee raised this in the AA meet today) Amsterdam
release cut - while Bejing.
In the past and during that last open source project I worked at for Oracle
(EclipseLink RI for JPA 2.0) we created release branches prior to release when
we verified the build was very stable (no commits for 48h) - once we branched
then we patched the release branch with cherry-picks from master as required.

Thank you
/michael

thanks.

 hi david

thanks, david. a few questions below.

#2 - SDC is planning to allow onboarding VNFSDK0-validated TOSCA VNF
packages in R1. Also, SDC is planning to add Open-O TOSCA types.

[Maopeng]does the SDC plan to add open-o TOSCA Type in R1? [David] Yes.
That is the plan. The types’ namespace would follow OpenECOMP convention.

#3 – @Michael – Could you please make sure we the node type definition
file(s) for VF and Service exist in the wiki. @Maopeng - could you please
elaborate more on the node type you would like to add.

[Maopeng] If SDC can import openo tosca type in R1, I have no more node
type to add. But in the design time, we can desgin different VNF base on the
VF node type and VNF package.

#5 – Please see enclosed email.

[Maopeng] Thanks. For the NS , the new parameter serviceType and
serviceRole I think is ok. For the VF, we need the vnfminfo. what's about your
advice? Thanks. [David] What information the vnfminfo has?

These questions still need your advices.

1\ Whether to support ELAN VL, which can be shared among VNFs.

[Maopeng ] now the SDC supports VL, but it is automatically produced.
Now I can design the Eline type VL, but for the VoLTE case , we need
multiple VNFs share one VL.

what's the automatic rule of VL creating? How to
design it? could you show with us. thanks.

[Michael: David can you respond?]

2\The service package and vnf package CSAR in the SDC catalog, please share
them. Thanks

3\ About the parser, VFC written in python can not use the java lib

Re: [onap-discuss] M2 Functionality Frezee feedback request

2017-08-10 Thread SPATSCHECK, OLIVER (OLIVER)

Can we discuss below? I agree with Catherine if we want to have the code stubs
in place by M2 we will have a DETAILED functional design freeze milestone
before M2. Having both on the same day makes little sense to me too. To late to
worry about this for r1 (will just push trough and adjust as needed) but we
should fix this on the timeline for R2.

2017-08-10 Thread zhang.maopeng1
hi david

thanks, david. a few questions below.

#2 - SDC is planning to allow onboarding VNFSDK0-validated TOSCA VNF
packages in R1. Also, SDC is planning to add Open-O TOSCA types.

[Maopeng]does the SDC plan to add open-o TOSCA Type in R1?

#3 – @Michael – Could you please make sure we the node type definition
file(s) for VF and Service exist in the wiki. @Maopeng - could you please
elaborate more on the node type you would like to add.

[Maopeng] If SDC can import openo tosca type in R1, I have no more node
type to add. But in the design time, we can desgin different VNF base on the
VF node type and VNF package.

#5 – Please see enclosed email.

[Maopeng] Thanks. For the NS , the new parameter serviceType and
serviceRole I think is ok. For the VF, we need the vnfminfo. what's about your
advice? Thanks.

2\The service package and vnf package CSAR in the SDC catalog, please share
them. Thanks

3\ About the parser, VFC written in python can not use the java lib

Best Regards

Maopeng
