You can hear at home using simulate navigation (in options within
navigation popup). You can check the kind of voice prompts you are using in
configure profile> Navigation settings > Voice prompts > Language >

One of the prior replies indicated that Osmand uses the Android text to
speech subsystem.

Therefore, the answer to your question of why the voice changed is:

Because Google changed the voice they use as part of the Android OS
text to speech system.

I.e., Osmand does not supply the voice you hear, that voice is built
into Android. If Google changes the voice they use in Android, then
the voice you hear changes.

Hi!
All voices are generated by using the installed Text-to-Speech (TTS)
engine. You need to check in the System settings, what software it uses,s
and select the needed voice.

since a few weeks, not more than a month, without me changing anything
actively, the standard german announcing voice in osmand has changed, and
much to the worse. I was always happy with the previous (which was in every
respect so much better than i.e. that from google maps!), but now there is
that sad sounding new voice which shocked me when I suddenly heard it for

You may know this already but it sounds like you're describing instructions
at each bend instead of each junction. If you create the route in osmand
you'll get far fewer instructions.

That is currently not possible in Osmand. Instructions are on or off.
This is a "users help users" mailing list which is hardly visited by the
developers.
Please file a feature request to the issue list that the developers do
follow: Issues · osmandapp/OsmAnd · GitHub
<https://github.com/osmandapp/OsmAnd/issues>
And please specify it clearly like you did in your last mail "*I want to
turn off only turn-by-turn announcements but still have track points,
nearby favorites or POI announced.*"

Re: Option to disable Turn by Turn Voice prompts

2021-12-13 Thread Harry van der Wolf
You can even make this as a "two tap" shortcut on your screen.
Settings -> configure Screen -> Quick Action
Add the voice prompts on/off

And then you can move the Quick Action icon to any place you like.

Option to turn off turn-by turn voice prompts

2021-10-04 Thread kajt...@gmail.com

When I searched I found that the problem with too many voice prompts
during navigation was discussed many times but I did not find a good
solution.
*If this forum is monitored by the development team* please respond to this
e-mail by saying if my proposal could be implemented.
My proposal is to make another switch in Voice prompts to enable or disable
turn-by-turn prompts that are generated by OSMAnd ( One can see them
looking at details). This would allow to silence them but still have the
option to enable track waypoints or favorites prompts to be announced.
If a trail is simple with only a few turn-by-turn prompts then they are
useful, if a hiking trail has many zig-zags they are annoying with
announcements on every turn every 10-15 meters.
The switch would allow making manually a few useful wpts or favorites along
the trail and they only would be announced.
On a long trail, I may need only a few voice prompts, like when thas path
crosses another path and the wpt titled, "go straight" or "go left" would
help to choose the proper path without need to look at the phone.
I hope I am clear about what I am asking for.

Navigation problems with Osmand and voice messages

2021-08-03 Thread Rilo's Videos
Hi all,

i use Osmand for route planning and also for navigation with voice when
biking on my eMTB. I had some good experience with it but lately i did a
tour through the Odenwald (Germany, Hessen) and navigation was very bad. In
a forest it directed me to drive in a big circle and i had difficulties
finding out. Also later on the tour it often directed me in the wrong way,
often in the exact opposite direction! I wonder if this comes from gps
unaccurancies or other problems? I got the idea it was getting worse and
worse on the trip from the moment it was wrong in the first place. Also the
voice advice is quite annoying, when it always says "slight cure to the
right then keep right" and there is only one route with lots of curves - it
just doesn't make sense!

The route i was going can be found here in detail:
https://brouter.de/brouter-web/#map=12/49.6475/8.7767/OpenTopoMap,HikeBike.HillShading,route-quality=8.68003,49.688141;8.693467,49.686904;8.689315,49.675862;8.691949,49.673684;8.688478,49.669259;8.691542,49.662633;8.710836,49.66082;8.718031,49.655265;8.72319,49.657724;8.733969,49.644868;8.742147,49.647822;8.755979,49.642277;8.760446,49.633031;8.755714,49.625007;8.758779,49.620271;8.752721,49.613977;8.754352,49.609776;8.781174,49.59711;8.794659,49.580799;8.808356,49.573368;8.812055,49.565399;8.812693,49.550317;8.800956,49.543702;8.778709,49.544055;8.747153,49.54727;8.706015,49.560859;8.691218,49.56156;8.689246,49.556149;8.677259,49.55383;8.666181,49.561867;8.661004,49.577699;8.653733,49.5817;8.649312,49.590623;8.651943,49.615742;8.641575,49.626406;8.641885,49.631152;8.633313,49.642882;8.637266,49.64822;8.650997,49.653286;8.656225,49.669347;8.651014,49.674866;8.657431,49.67718;8.657513,49.682314;8.671975,49.683493;8.68003,49.688141

First problems occured at point 5 from start where Osmand guided me in a
circle through the forest. Later on there were lots of wrong navigation
instruction, often in the opposite direction from the right way.

thanks for your advice!

One thing is to set the tolerance distance. Outside the tolerance distance,
recalculation starts. It's somewhere in the navigation settings for the
profile. This is location dependant, so it relies on the gps-accuracy of
your device. Mine is, uhm, suboptimal so it often places me up to 20 m off.
When walking, this could mean I am on the other side of a long canal, which
would warrant recalculation.

The other thing is the gpx. When cycling along a bicycle-routed gpx, you
are fine, the router should have picked the correct side of roads, around
roundabouts etc. If you navigate along a revered gpx, you are very often at
a distance from the gpx, because you have to cycle at the correct side,
sometimes even completely different paths.

Maybe something like that is part of the cause?

Nope, I used a different GPX file and different road on the way home. I
also try to record the track, maybe that record causing the problem? Or the
smart recalculate mode? Because I turn it on too.

Just a guess but maybe on the way back you hadn't swapped the start and end
points, so it kept trying to persuade you to turn around and recalculating
when you didn't.

after I use it again from destination back to home it always say that

Re: Instructions (voice, visual) mismatch with own route on map

2021-04-09 Thread Michel van der Kleij
Thanks for that reply Xavier!

I think the "precision"of placing the points on the map could explain those
spurious detours. However, those voice and visual instructions are WAY off
and they seem to have almost nothing to do with the actual map. I mean,
very often there's simply no road where it wants me to turn or it sends me
in the opposite direction as to what the map shows on screen, it's as if it
thinks I'm in a (very) different location for the instructions while the
map is just spot on.

But for the next route, I will test higher precision with placing the
waypoints, see if that helps ...

Re: Instructions (voice, visual) mismatch with own route on map

2021-04-08 Thread 'Xavier' via OsmAnd

On Thu, Apr 08, 2021 at 10:14:44AM -0700, Michel van der Kleij wrote:

When I create my own route by adding and dragging waypoints onto the map,
there seems to be a mismatch between the voice and visual instructions to
the point where the instructions seem totally unrelated (or at the very
least, not synchronised) to the actual route shown on the map.

One question: When you add the waypoints, do you make sure that the
point of the "pin" of the waypoint is on an actual road? I.e., if the
waypoint is off to the side of a road perhaps the miss-match is OsmAnd
trying to take you "through" the actual waypoint spot?

I.e., I've accidentally dropped waypoints on the wrong side of a
divided highway and had odd routes created that have me doubling back
to cross the waypoint. I've since been careful to make sure the
waypoints are actually "on" the road segments I want to traverse at
that location in the route (this sometimes requires magnifing the view
to place the waypoint accurately).

  - However, while driving I often get the instruction to go right whereas
the map (correctly) shows a left or I'm asked to turn into some
non-existing road. Not surprisingly, the instructions often use the wrong
street name, whereas the map is correct.

This might be caused by the waypoint being a short distance to the
right of the road at this location.

  - The time needed to complete the route is way off: for something like
80k (again, for a car) it will start off with something like 40 hours but
getting a little closer to something more realistic as we progress along
  the route

Unsure on this one, other than the trip/arrival time is an estimate
based upon the speeds that OsmAnd believes you may travel. If most of
the road segments do not have a speed limit tag in the OpenStreetMap
data, then OsmAnd simply has to use some fixed value. If that fixed
value and the actual speed limit differ substantially, you can get
wildly incorrect estimates. So this might mean someone (or you) might
need to add the appropriate speed limit tags to OpenStreetMap for these
roads.

In any case, the predictions will better fit reality after you begin a
trip, as then OsmAnd can use your actual speed to better estimate a
rate of travel for the remainder, and produce a better estimate of time
left/arrival time.

  - Often, there seem to be points the navigation wants to go to that are
maybe 100m or so off the route, in which case even the map shows these
spurious "detours". Most often these occur in intersections like
T-junctions. So navigating on the map, they're easy enough to avoid as you
can usually see where the correct route goes.

This could also be a case where the waypoint pins are 100m off from the
road you are traveling.

Strangely enough, routes that I download (I've tried primarily those from
the web site of the Dutch tourist organisation ANWB) seem to do much better
at these things than the routes I create myself.

Is it possible their routes better match the underlying streets?

Am I doing something wrong? Are there any settings I need to change?

I am unsure. If for no other reason than it is easy, for your next
route, try to make sure any waypoints you drop are directly on top of a
road segment you want to traverse, and see if that improves the
results.

If it does, then this would imply that OsmAnd may not try to "snap"
waypoints to nearby roads when in the "car" routing mode.

Instructions (voice, visual) mismatch with own route on map

2021-04-08 Thread Michel van der Kleij

Hi All!

I'm a relatively new user, but I noticed something odd during navigation.
When I create my own route by adding and dragging waypoints onto the map,
there seems to be a mismatch between the voice and visual instructions to
the point where the instructions seem totally unrelated (or at the very
least, not synchronised) to the actual route shown on the map. I have "car"
selected and during the track creation process, the route is properly
following the roads after I add a waypoint, resulting in a route map that
is (largely, see below) correct.

   - However, while driving I often get the instruction to go right whereas
the map (correctly) shows a left or I'm asked to turn into some
non-existing road. Not surprisingly, the instructions often use the wrong
street name, whereas the map is correct.
   - The time needed to complete the route is way off: for something like
80k (again, for a car) it will start off with something like 40 hours but
getting a little closer to something more realistic as we progress along
   the route
   - Often, there seem to be points the navigation wants to go to that are
maybe 100m or so off the route, in which case even the map shows these
spurious "detours". Most often these occur in intersections like
T-junctions. So navigating on the map, they're easy enough to avoid as you
can usually see where the correct route goes.

Strangely enough, routes that I download (I've tried primarily those from
the web site of the Dutch tourist organisation ANWB) seem to do much better
at these things than the routes I create myself.

Am I doing something wrong? Are there any settings I need to change?

Thanks!

Mich.

Sorry, I can't help with an IPhone.
But there must be something similar to what there is on my Android phone

Under settings
Download maps
and near the end an entry called
Voice prompts (TTS, preferred)
If you tap on this you see a (long) list of possible languages.
On the right of an installed language there are three vertical dots.
If you tap on these there is an option to remove this language package.
After that you can (re-) install it.

I don't know if there is a development plugin on an IPhone to test voices.
Hopefully someone reading mailing list owns an IPhone and can help with this

Re: voice guidance is enabled, but no voice

2020-12-16 Thread Helmut Jarausch
Uninstall the selected voice file and reinstall it.
Go the development menu, there is an item to test voices.
This helped me some time ago.

voice guidance is enabled, but no voice

2020-12-16 Thread Jazzz
A few months ago voice guidance stopped. It's enabled, a language selected,
volume up, but no sound. What could this be? (Sound from radio etc.
functions fine)
Suggestions are appreciated

by the way, I often (about 30% of all my planned routes) experience that
OsmAnd does not "speak" when I plan a route. The only thing that I found
out helps in such a situation is to force close OsmAnd and when re-opening
it, it will ask if it shall continue the last route and then it always
worked so far. Once ir works, it will work thruout that session even when I
recalculate the route. Strange but at least it works.

Re: Inconvenient start of navigation + Annoying voice alerts

2020-05-04 Thread Harry van der Wolf
Sorry, I am incorrect.

1) DOES function. If I "stupidly" click the grey "Start" button it gives an
error that it doesn't have a location, but when I then activate location on
my phone and simply wait, it does the calculation and starts navigation.
So the button is grey as if inactivated, but it does work. This is terrible
from application design point of view.

2) is still a good feature request.

Re: Inconvenient start of navigation + Annoying voice alerts

2020-05-04 Thread Harry van der Wolf
That TTS has absolutely nothing to do with it. If you do not have TTS or
recorded voice configured, then it will ask that indeed, but that is not
what the op meant.

The op is completely right that:
1) doesn't function if you do not have a GPS location, You can't start the
navigation. In other applications you just start and wait for the program
to get its location and then do the route calculation.
 2) is confusing detail. As a driver I can't estimate whether it is 227 or
223 meters, and I don't care either. Secondly: Due to inaccuracies in both
GPS/Glonass and street mapping, this 227 meters might be right on the map,
but might be 235 meters in practice.

@Matija: Please create 2 issues for this:
https://github.com/osmandapp/Osmand/issues/
This is a "user helps user" mailgroup. The devs look at the issues.

Inconvenient start of navigation + Annoying voice alerts

2020-05-04 Thread 'Matija Pa' via OsmAnd

Lately in OsmAnd+ I've been having these two issues while navigating
(driving):

1. I tap on my destination and want to just immediately tap on *Start
navigating* button (or whatever it's labeled in English). But I can't do
this - the button is disabled - until my phone has found my location? This
wasn't the case in some previous versions of the app. And finding my
location can sometimes take up to a minute or more. This is dumb because
I'm driving and I need to focus on the road.
Now, I keep my phone location off until I need it, to preserve battery. So
I turn it on, and then fire up my OsmAnd+.
I want to be able to *just tell OsmAnd+ to start navigating and then wait
for it to do its location/navigation calculation in its own time*. It's
annoying to have to wait just to tap on the button that I'll have to tap
anyway.

2. Voice navigation tells me, e.g. "In two... hundred... twenty... seven...
meters... turn left." If I'm driving in a city this is dumb because, by the
time I listen to what I should do at the next intersection, I'm already
through said intersection! If I'm at 50 km/h and have 200 meters to go, in
those precious ~5 seconds of speech I will pass 70 meters and then panic
because I've learned I'm in the wrong lane or smth.
It would be so much better to simplify this and *instead of saying "in 227
meters" just say "in 200 meters"*. Because the other 27 meters don't matter
to me as a human driver.

Re: Voice??

2020-03-18 Thread Helmut Jarausch
You could try the following
Go to the menu / extensions / OSMAnd-development
Tap on the 3 vertical dots and go to settings. There scroll down to "test
voice announcements"
It displays a list of available languages.
Tap on the desired language.
You get a list announcements in English. Tap on one and you should here the
message in your language.
I once had a similar problem.
I uninstalled my language and reinstalled it again. This fixed the problem.

This topic could also be useful to people who use Bluetooth-enabled hearing

acoustic from phone to ears, especially when cycling. Beats the traffic

Could also be relevant to Bluetooth headphone users..

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it tomorrow when driving.

BTW, for others who need to find this setting (and it's not obvious where
it is):

Settings -> On top change profile to -> Driving
Under it you'll see -> Configure Profile
Navigation settings ->

OR :
Settings -> Directions -> Options ->
You'' see a Sound Voice prompts ON/OFF.
Don't use this one, but lower down press and hold -> Navigation Settings.

FINALLY:
Press and hold -> Voice prompts.
Scroll down to -> Language and output -> Pause music.

How to set a delay before voice prompt starts talking

2020-01-19 Thread Kenneth A
Hi fellow Osmand'ers,

First let me thank you for a wonderful product. A pleasure to use.

I have my mobile phone (motorola g7 power) connected to my car stereo
(alpine 73) and the navigation voice prompts are played through the stereo.
whenever there's a voice prompt, osmand starts talking and the car stereo
switches over from what it's playing to osmand over bluetooth.
The problem is that the switchover to osmand takes about 1 second and I
lose the first 1 second of osmand voice instructions.

Is it possible to configure osmand to wait x seconds before actually
talking? This will give the stereo enough time to switch over to bluetooth
and I won't miss any words.

Thanks.

Check one that you know from personal experience was miss-pronounced.

That will indicate whether the problem is OSM data or OSMAnd.

The fix procedure will depend upon the outcome of that check.

Verify first in OpenStreetMap (https://www.openstreetmap.org/) that the
exits are numbered correctly in the base data.

If the base data is incorrect, then sign up for an OSM account and edit
the map to contain the correct numbers (which should then flow into
OSMAnd after the next map update).

If the base data is correct, then file a bug report in the OSMAnd
github issue tracker (https://github.com/osmandapp/Osmand/issues).
Include as many details in your bug report as you can.

Because every time I have seen this, the reason was the phone, not the
navigation. The text-to-speak runs in background, and sometimes the phone

I was able to restore English UK language accent by uninstalling Google

Not sure if this is a TTS issue, OSMand issue or LineageOS issue.

You must select the same language in Google text-to-speech and then choose
the same language of TTS in OsmAnd (does not need to be the same as UI
language).

Re: No TTS Voice

2019-09-02 Thread GZU

I've also recently experienced problems with TTS voice announcments.
My selected voice was English (UK), it then reverted to default English
(American accent).
When I swapped to another language (French) there were noticable gaps over
bluetooth where the French directions should have been (no voice
directions).
When I swapped back to UK English then I got the American accent again.
There was a recent update to Google text-to-speech but I don't know if
that is part of the problem.

TTS voices inside OsmAnd are only part of the equation. They define what
words OsmAnd should say in voice commands.
There need to be another app/module to know how to pronounce those words
via the sound output (speaker).
Check if you have such application. It is usually part of Android (check in
Android settings -> accessibility -> text to speech) or can be downloaded
from Google Play, Google Text to speech app.

Do you have such a module installed in the Lineage OS 16 with microG?

Hello,

I am using OSMAnd+ 3.5.6 from F-Droid on a lineage 16 (Android 9) with

No matter which TTS language I use, it doesn't work. Language packs

When I use the OsmAnd development extension to test the languages, the same
problem occurs.

I would be happy about a hint what the problem is.

When I had problems with voice, I found it helpful to install the OsmAnd

Re: VOICE TURN-BY-TURN ISSUE

2018-12-05 Thread Bart Eisenberg
This might be a workaround (but not the equivalent) for the lack of a route
alarm:

Create a route in OsmAnd.
Save it to a GPX.
Start navigation using the GPX
In directions/settings, make sure "Pass along entire track" is unchecked

If you leave the route as dictated by the GPX, I think this will lead you
back to it. (But no alarm sounds)

Re: VOICE TURN-BY-TURN ISSUE

Turn by turn instructions are not helped by the fact that Osmand disabled the
off route alarm feature. If you miss a turn Osmand will never use the option
of stopping and going back to get on route ( even using when using Osmands
native navigation feature)
Instead the app calculates a new route / detour which can be miles in length.
Doesn't make sense.
This is a major inconvenience when cycling in rural areas or if you have time
constraints.
Unlike other navigation apps Osmand seems to have an aversion to an off route
alarm. A right pain.

It does not make sense to use a single value.
It should be evaluated per way segment basis within the profile script file.
If fact, the more values the better.

Re: VOICE TURN-BY-TURN ISSUE

@Osmandtrier I agree that it isn't an OsmAnd problem. It is my ignorance of
how OsmAnd generates voice commands. It's been awhile, but as I recall,
most missed turns occurred when the roadway forked, like at a freeway
interchange. I couldn't see far enough ahead on the screen to figure out
where the route was going and had to decide whether to go left, right or
straight ahead. I wonder if, at these type of junctures I place a
way-point, OsmAnd might call out the path.

It could be, that is not a problem of ossmand. It ccould be a problem of
your track. If Osmand add voice hints to a gpx-track, Osmand do not refer
to the streets. It only refer to the change of the angle of the track. For
example. The blacklines are the streets, the red line is the gpx track.
There is no change of the angle, so there is no voicehint.

@Bart Thanks. The example I shared was the "optimum" route generated by
Google Maps so it pretty much conforms with the OsmAnd generated route. The
maps I create are extremely customized, i.e. Route 66 (1926), Lincoln
Highway, etc. These maps all demonstrate "voice" capability but it doesn't
always catch every turn. I haven't been able to figure out what tells
OsmAnd when to speak. I think the issue is related to editing (non-software
generated) changes. Just scratching my head...

Re: VOICE TURN-BY-TURN ISSUE

2018-12-04 Thread Robert Grant
@Bart, the amazing OSMAND how-to you've created is really
underappreciated. The detailed knowledge and great use of graphics with
voice over amaze me. You should have many more views and subscribers for
such an excellent tutorial. I agree that planning a route on the phone
pales in comparison to the ease and accuracy of other programs that create
GPX tracks. However, these lack the street name provision that many users
desire. To plan a route on OSMAND using a mouse, I use the ApowerMirror
android app to mirror phone to computer. It's a nice trick that makes
tracks with street names easier to create.

Right: GPXs created in OsmAnd provide proper turn-by-turn navigation in
OsmAnd. The function is part of the route details screen, as shown here:
https://youtu.be/o84C0z3Kydc?t=563

But other than using BRouter (which I've not yet tried), I haven't heard of
an externally-created GPX that can do the same. The question keeps coming
up because people like to plan routes on a screen larger than a phone.

VOICE TURN-BY-TURN ISSUE

2018-12-04 Thread Charles Buono
I create maps to use on long-distance motorcycle trips. I create the route
in Google My Maps and then share the link to GPS Visualizer to convert to
.GPX. Then I use GPS Track Editor v1.15.141 to validate and fine tune the
route. This method works well, however, I have noticed that the voice
guidance will occasionally omit a voice prompt for a turn. It is especially
frustration when entering a freeway exchange where the road branches out in
many directions. Is there a way to correct this? Thanks..

Re: Voice navigation question

2018-12-03 Thread Poutnik the Wanderer

Brouter does not announce every direction change
by design, it tries to omit trivial ones.

This can be modified in the profile.
A quote from my unofficial Glossary GitHub page:

"Priorityclassifier is a BRouter numerical parameter calculated for ways
and used for generation of pictogram/voice navigation instructions. Higher
values means the more significant(=noticeable) way, AFA it can be predicted
from OSM data.

To avoid navigation instruction flood, the BRouter author ( Arndt
Brenschede ) decided the instructions are provided only if:

You are supposed to turn at a crossroad/junction and the other alternatives
have the same or higher priority.

You are supposed to go straight ahead and some of other alternatives have
the higher priority."

There are two distinct modes of voice navigation - one using text-to-speech
and one using prepared voice hints. The first one depends not only on
downloaded the voice data (hint: check that these are downloaded, you can
find it in downloads, literally under the map data) but on the phone
text-to-speech. Meaning: if you set OsmAnd to use tts data, and the phone's
text-to-speech is missing the language, nothing comes out on the phone end.
In such case, use the prepared voice hints (sound files). You can download
this as well - again, check that you have all the files needed.
Additionally, you have to set the correct voice data in the "navigation
settings". But this is just the last step, not the only one.

No Voice navigation

2018-11-23 Thread An Van Laer
Hi

Yesterday i went for a walk with a group of persons. Of the 8 persons
which were using the OsmAnd app, we had 3 phones with problems with the
voice navigation.

Two of them had no voice navigation, although we dubbelchecked if Dutch was
set (and the phone wasn't muted). One of them had a English voice. Here
also Dutch was set.

How can we make sure that the app speaks Dutch?

Thanks in advance.

for roads is the same: https://youtu.be/o84C0z3Kydc

Re: Voice navigation question

2018-11-08 Thread Poutnik the Wanderer

In contrary of natively calculated routes,
OSMAnd ( other apps usually too) takes GPX route as a simple point sequence.

The is no difference to an off-road outdoor GPX route, just this time
points happen to sit on roads.

OSMAnd in gpx-route-following mode ignores road network data from the
vector map.

The map just serves as a background.
You could as well use a raster map without any routing data.

OSMAnd has no idea if the GOx route turning is just a curve or a
junction/crossroad.Sonit announces every turn.

The exception is, if the GPX is generated with navigation hints by BRouter
navigation.

GPX will tell OSMand, where and what to tell.

It even does not tell you to turn, if the turning means staying on the
major road( not by traffic to priority, but by road OSM class.)

The easiest way to generate GPX with hints is to use Brouter-web frontend
http://brouter.de/brouter-web with turned on OSMAnd aware hints in the profile
and download the GPX file.

that I hope someone can help me with is for every sharp corner it tells me
turn right or left in so many feet when there is no turn it is just a curve
in the road. Is there a way to turn this off as it gets very annoying on
really curvy roads.

Voice navigation question

2018-11-08 Thread Mike Vanderhoff
I use the application to navigate fun curvy roads on my motorcycle from
preplanned .gpx routes and it works great. The one annoying feature though
that I hope someone can help me with is for every sharp corner it tells me
turn right or left in so many feet when there is no turn it is just a curve
in the road. Is there a way to turn this off as it gets very annoying on
really curvy roads.
