I am considering getting one, although I would like to see what the second
generation dslr will have for improvements. Canon had the D30. There were
some yelps about some of the features which resulted in the D60. So I am
going to wait a bit to see what happens with Pentax.

DOF feature for the use of M/K lenses. I wonder if someone at Pentax

Have any of you ever used a bare bulb strobe? I know Greywolf has a Norman,
but that doesn't count. I once had a Vivitar 5600 with bare bulb head, was
obsessed with the idea of fill-in for ultrawides, but never

is that the image in the viewfinder appears almost exactly life size,

POV, complaints are more valuable than praise.
OTOH, I do think that most of us would recommend the *ist D, which is
the practical version of praise.

mount is not really so crippled. I wonder, whether they can produce an
firmware upgrade for *ist, MZ-30 and similar cameras...

I say that since the *ist is not a digital camera per se, there would be
no way to upgrade the firmware, without sending it back to Pentax to
have whatever ROM chip that holds the operating information, upgraded or
replaced.
