I do like the second one better, simply because the picture is bigger
and the moon more visible. I would say you have great subject matter
in New Zealand, but I'm beginning to think that maybe the quality is
in the photographer. :-)

I usually delete files from the memory card while it's in the card
reader, probably for no other reason than I find it more convenient.
WRT re-formatting, my experience is with CF cards in a Canon A75 and SD
cards in the istDS. I don't reformat after every use and have had no
