Hi All! Being in Boston, MA last weekend, I observed this guest enjoying a shower under the sprinklers. I took a few shots through the mosquito net, but when I tried to open the screen door the visitor rushed away. Having looked at Mark Cassino's pages, I think this bird is called American

Kenneth, All images were taken between 3:14 and 3:15pm local time. It is possible that what you think is being an effect of the harsh light comes from the fact that I've choosen strong contrast in the curve tab in the ACR. Here is an example when I choose it to be linear.

Well, film scans will either set you back a lot of money, or a lot of time and a little less money (if you buy a film scanner). I just did a shoot for our church that was partly digital, partly film (because I wanted to use my fisheye zoom), and I'll tell ya, the film part of that shoot is a pain

Scott said he was going to have a lab scan the 50 shots. In southeast Michigan, an area that includes quite a few pro shhoters and studios, I've found that only the very best labs can produce good scans, and they don't come cheap. The experience of others may vary. -- Original
