You can compare images here. The Q7 is noticeably sharper and resolves
more fine detail than the original Q. There wasn't hardly much
difference between the Q and Q10 in terms of IQ. It higher ISOs the Q7
gets probably a stop better.

There is a preview jpeg saved at a low quality setting embedded. That
is what raw converters use to give you thumbnails when you import. I
also think the preview you see on the camera is also the embedded
jpeg, but I could be wrong.

It looks nice for sure. The controls look awkward and would require 2
hands in a lot of settings changes however. I think DSLRs have evolved
forward for a reason. I'm a huge fan of designs that allow one handed,
eye level settings changes.

There's not enough in these pictures to draw any conclusions. The 1600
shot looks pretty good. The jpeg engine is smearing a bit though, but
tons of detail is being retained. The chroma noise in the shadows
looks troubling, but that's nothing that can't be fixed in post. I
wouldn't pass any
I dunno. With the K-3, its going to take a substantial FF camera to
provide much improvement. Unless it offers significant resolution
increase or much higher ISO capability (these two usually do not go
together) then for me a 24mp full frame is kind of boring. I
considered a cheap 5dmk2 for a
Why buy APS-C bodies over FF? Cost is the general reason.
m4/3 over DSLR? Size. Cost as well since the Pens get into point and
shoot prices pretty quickly as they age and I imagine most people just
use a kit lens.
My sister is looking for a new camera. She's using my old FZ-35 right

LOL Boris! My K-5 if I ever get it back from CRIS will last me for
some time as well. I'd have to massively invest in better glass to
really take advantage of 24mp on an aps-c sensor.

A gay friend of mine was a model when he was younger. He quit doing it
because the person he saw in the pictures was not him. I'll never
forget how he put it that way. I don't look at women in magazines.

actually quite in vogue when the 6x7 came out and certainly remained
the weapon of choice for many a fashion photographer.

I just heard back from CRIS on my K-5 that I sent in with a failing
sensor. Despite the LCD cover being obviously scratched and popped off
and the dented bottom plate it looks like they are going to fix it all
under warranty! This is like the best news I've heard all year and I
was so reluctant to
That optical formula chart is amazing. Look at how they totally cheap
out on the Tokina 135. They omit a rear group in the spiratone that
the sigma has and the pentax looks like it has further corrective
glass. No ED glass. Fascinating. The Zeiss glass looks like the one to
get. Go figure. I'm
to find one of these lenses now. 135mm is a very useful focal
length on aps-c IMO.

This rumor has made the rounds a few times. There is a chinese or
