Prolly the biggest complaint that I have about the
pz1p is that sometimes the autofocus cannot keep up
with my subject; particularly when there is a runner
coming straight towards me. When the MZ-S first came
out I noticed that someone mentioned that the AF motor
sounded and felt stronger and

I ordered my PZ-1p from BH ($479.95), and ordered the 28-70/4 from KEH in

Well, you were right. The deal I mentioned previously went sour.
I placed the order online last night (Regency Camera), and called this morning
to confirm: PZ-1p, Pentax 28-105 and Pentax 100-300 for $614 including shipping
(which was around $35).
My Customer Service Rep started me off through

Anyone in the US who speaks to a Pentax USA product rep reasonably
frequently? Should ask why Regency

I'm trying to find the catch here...some of these bare-bones discount camera
mail order places are offering deals like the PZ-1p plus the Pentax 28-105 and
the Pentax 100-300 zooms for around $600.00. I know these zooms probably aren't
the best optically, but heck, to get the PZ-1p
Overall not a bad way to go. If you decide you want better, you can
probably sell the lenses for at least as much as you paid.

of the others (such as Focus and 17photo), knowing
EXACTLY what I was getting and keeping things simple.
How about the PZ-1p ($480 at BH) and 35mm/2.0 ($284 at BH) and 50mm/1.4
($185 at BH) for a total of $949? Then in a while add the 135/2.8 ($309),
then maybe something between the 50 and the 135
it was made). You can find a good used one at
KEH.
