Aside from my Digital Pentax, I am the recipient of some of my Dad's cameras. Included in the lot are a couple of Contaxes and a Leica M4. The Tessar 50 mm is supposedly good. The M4 has an assortment of lenses including what can either be described as a cannon or a do-it yourself SLR.

Silver salts have been used in the past as an antibiotic. They kill a lot of bacteria. However unless you're dumping commercial quantities, (hundreds of gallons), not a gallon or two, and in your case probably a lot less, it shouldn't cause any problem in a sewage treatment plant. I know
