You could check out the ProMaster line of tripods - their SystemPro models
have a center post that detaches and expands into a monopod - and you end up
with both tripod and monopod. The series 1 can be had for about $165 with a
fairly substantial ball head, the series 2 for a little more. MSRP
If it works the same as the ZX-7, you can leave the aperture ring in the A
position (or in the case of the FAJ, it's always in A), set the mode to Av
and select the aperture using left-right movement of the switch co-located
with the shutter button.

Knoppix ISO and burn it to a CD. When you boot from the CD it will run
a Linux variation off the CD and you can access any data on the HD.
