Under the zoom ring are a set of contact fingers which feed back FL to the
camera body, I don't recall how to remove this ring however I know I have

W/S tower. My server
is supporting 6 drives at the moment but I can add another 4 if needed, I have
a tornado passing thorough it so I really don't need additional cooling, it is
also in a remote location so it doesn't keep the household awake :-)

photos with my LXen without a care in the world. However I got caught in pretty
heavy rain the other day with my *ist D and nothing to shield it with, I had a
heck of a time keeping the water off it. I just don't trust toy cameras.

Of course there are many other photo sites but sharing pics that you are proud
of with your peers many of whom have been friends for years is quite different
to the concept that I see dominates most photo-sites.

Just buy the bits of the kit, they will only cost 1/5th of the price if they
aren't labelled "digital"

Sniping is also a good way to secure an item that's no longer made and that
you've been searching for
hat with the kit? I very
often still have my film cameras with me when I go out digi-capturing.
What I'm saying is don't expect a digicam to be a wholesale replacement for all
that you expect from film and vice versa. They both have their place.

That's great, I think the biggest hurdle for you (like Bill said) will be
be interested to hear of any obscure controls you have found useful
when processing your Pentax RAW files :-)

ws adjustments set the points in the captured data that
will be deemed as the brightest and darkest in the final image the other tools
then just apply curves to the data set between these two pre-sets.
Pre-setting the camera default is a little like standardizing on a particular
film.

it will be his first time using any serious film equipment (his first SLR was
the *ist D). So it will be very interesting to hear what he thinks about the
limitations of film given that he has a good idea of what the *ist D can do.

for me, again a strange comparison. If
it shows me anything it is that the 200/4 for the P67 is a pretty poor
performer, CA is really pronounced.

RAW conversion there is generally
very little need to alter the levels or gamma in PS, the new shadows/highlight
tool has negated a greatly the need to manually dodge and burn too. Film scans
are a different matter. :-(
