Hi Daniel,
It took quite a while. More than three weeks, easily. I was beginning

Many thanks, Boris!
I'm frequently filled with doubts about my photography when I see the
work of others. Usually, when someone who isn't a photographer says
something nice about my work, I'm thinking about what's not so great
about the shot -- Well, it could've been better if I'd done
In this case consider the passing of time as a good thing. It indicates current
survival of the voting process and, therefor, a reason for hope.

It is nice to have folks like you and the rest on PDML to turn to for
guidance and an honest critique. I've had some generally bad and/or
uninteresting photos get praise from people simply because they don't
want to discourage me. There's no harm in that -- and it is

I liked the image pretty well, but was surprised at the reception it got
from the list, as well as people I showed the print to. I do tend to be
a pretty harsh critic of some of my shots -- especially after I set them
aside for a few days and look at them again. Strangely,
Thank you, Paul!
That shot is a big part of the reason I almost never go anywhere without

I'm pretty sure I won't get too discouraged by the inevitable
rejections. A big part of the reason that I post PESO's is simply to
make sure I'm being objective. Even when I really, really like a shot,
I tend not to trust my judgment. So, I post them here to see what
