Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
The IP address is where the bridge is running and the MAC address is a fake one assigned by the bridge but it is based on the real MAC address of the remote player that the bridge is trying to send music to. So those questions are unrelated to your problem. Someone with Sonos will, hopefully, come along to help. Hello I'm completely new to LMS and Dockers , but have it running with issues. I've followed the docker instructions and can get the server started and can see my media. However if I use a bridge network I can't see any of my players many of which are Sonos speakers. If I use Host I can see the players but they all have the same IP address of the host and a MAC address that's different to the Sonos APP. They also don't play music if selected, I've added all the ports to the NAS firewall. Been through the tread and can't see anything related to this issue, any ideas? I also installed LMS on my windows gaming PC and it all works as expected. 39142 Many Thanks Phil +---+ |Filename: Screenshot 2022-11-17 at 19.16.37.png| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39142| +---+ HighPeakRider's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=73160 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111876 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Look at your port mapping: 4383 != 3483. You dont need 9090 for the players. Youd only need it for some control applications. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
Hello I own a Synology DS218+ and Synology DS720+ Recently I decided to put my good old DS218+ to rest and thus could not use LMS anymore Now I found out that I could run my LMS in Docker, and gave it a try. After some research I was able to get in running and also access my music library outside of Docker. It kinda works, I could open the web Gui, and scan my library, but my Squeezebox Boom cannot connect. I think it needs Port 9090 for that. So I used telnet on it but got an error back... I try to connect my Squeezebox to the same IP you see in the first picture as adress, but to no avail.. (Port cannot be specified) But see for yourselves. Web Interface looks good as far as I can tell: 37430 Here are my Setting in the Docker Gui within Synology DSM. NikolajC wrote: > Thanks man. Helped here as well. Went into file station and changed > permissions for all to read/write including sub-dirs. Now the folders > show up in the Apnar image. Hello, I have installed LMS on docker and everything runs fine except the music folder that I don't see in LMS. My music is located in /volume3/music and I have mapped as /music /music in the volume tabs of docker. I have enabled RW accesses to the /volume3/music for all the users (chmod returns drwxrwxrwx+ in SSH) The funny thing is that I it does work if I map sub-folders of /music, for example /music/maroon5. In that case marron5 and its sub-directories show up in LMS as expected. The issue seems to be related to /music being a root shared folder. As far I understood you've been facing the same issue with the same volumes mapping. Thanks for your feedback. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
Thank you for this guide! Two additions from my side: 1. It is absolutely neccessary to deinstall the app (as mentioned). It is not enough to just stop it, you will get port conflicts on docker. 2. If you cannot access the folders music and playlist (normally outside docker), it may have to do with access rights. I solved it by giving read rights to everyone. Mine 8.0.0-1605892076 is running fine at the moment, but has probably an outdated SSL version to connect to mysqueezebox. A minor issue, but even I do not have the source of this version at all for reinstalling. SSL support is not part of LMS, but part of the Perl installation. So... you'd have to update Perl, which you can't/don't want to do. I'm sorry, I don't have any of those packages. My recommendation as always is to give up running LMS on the Synology, but use a Pi instead. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
I need help. Iam stuck. One week ago i updated pearl on my Synology NAS (where my LMS runs). After the pearl installation LMS was not running anymore. I found out that the newest pearl doesnt work with LMS. So i downgraded pearl and after that i had to install a newer version of LMS (i cant remember why or even it was a good idea to have a newer version). The only version of LNS that i found for my Synology ds241+ was 8.0.0 But now my SB radio don't work with the LMS anymore. The version of it is 7.7.3-r16676. Now i need to upgrade to a newer version of the SB radio firmware but for this i need a plugin that's only available for LMS 8.0.1 and higher. But i cant find any source for LMS armadaxp higher than 8.0.0. Has anyone a source for 8.0.1 for armadaxp? I returned to the NAS and gave read access to everyone I could seeno difference. What finally cracked it...I went back to the squeezebox, selected music folders and tried selecting one of the actual music folders on the nas. Nothing happened...for a couple of minutes, then as if by magic (!) it started playing and I could see all albums and artists etc for that folder. Selecting the actual folder from the squeezeboz seems to kick off the scanning process in LMS. So I selected one by one the other folders ... waited a few minutes, and now all artists and other info is available and the LMS is working perfectly. Thanks for all your suggestions, and I hope this helps someone else in a similar situation. Hi, I am running Pink Dot's 7.9.2 LMS on two Synology servers (DS1019+ and DS220+) and would like to upgrade to 8.X version, but this forum's link to SourcForge does not lead me to packages download. The LMS server.log might have some clues. My first guess would have been file/folder permissions. Perhaps your new Perl installation or the running LMS does not have the required rights to open the files. It's just that i was happy with way thing were with a DS412+ running LMS, but then came this famous Perl update which broke my configuration. After a lot of searching i ended up upgrading my NAS to a DS918+ which runs docker i.c.w. LMS and it suits me well for the stuff i'm doing (audio serving a huge music collection and off course Radio Paradise). For me, i'd like to stay with this configuration as long as possible. Being around in "computer land" for quite some time, i see this urge to renew and jam more and more features in firmwares, being it a NAS, router or OS's. Often at the cost of stability, power consumption and understandability. Anyways, thanks for your insight. I very much appreciate your work and efforts. Interesting, thanks for the explanation - and the offer of support. I must admit to being a bit intrigued with the Raspberry Pi - something I might like to get into as an occasional side interest. Once both solutions are configured an running (Docker / Pi), what are the benefits to running LMS via the Pi as opposed to on the NAS - I've not really read a clear list of advantages that have sold me on the idea? In the solution you describe, are you still pointing your Pi at the music on your Synology NAS via your router, or using a separate hard drive plugged into your Pi to behave as the LMS music library on the Pi itself? Or an option to the Favorites plugin? Just solved this missing OPML Playlist Browser & Editor issue. It's a tickbox in the 'Advanced > Favorites' settings: Here's how it was in 7.9: 34941 ...and in 8.1: 34942 To be honest, it's not something I recall ever using, so have disabled it in both instances now - and I still have no idea what it's actually used for! Thanks for the steer on this. Now just need to work out how to get my LMS 8.1 in its Synology 218+ Docker container to log into mysqueezebox correctly and I'm all sorted. Any idea if there's know issues with mysqueezebox login in 8.1 and what any fix might be - or if there's something else I need to check in my LMS or Docker setup? See a couple of posts back for the error log. Thanks! I've been looking into exactly this over the last few weeks. As far I'm aware, my understanding is as follows. Synology have ended support for LMS in their package centre, so it's not there any more - but remains working if you already had it. However, as you mention, a recent Perl update breaks it anyway unless you were lucky enough to have automatic Perl updates disabled on your Synology, read the upgrade warning and chose not to upgrade (which I did). Additionally, Synology is due to release the DSM7 OS shortly, and there is speculation it will force users to upgrade Perl, thus breaking the Package Centre version of LMS even if you still have it installed when you upgrade from DSM6 OS. I understand Synology typically supports security patches, etc. for the previous OS for some time (think I read 30 months..?), so one option is to simply keep Package Centre LMS installed, don't upgrade Perl and don't upgrade to DSM7. Possibly not the best of long term fixes, as at some point it will be unsupported, and your Synology may be have more security vulnerabilites - plus as a Synology owner, you may have a desire to use DSM7's new functionality anyway! The workaround if you want to update Perl whilst still using DSM6 and LMS, is to install the Docker app from Synology's Package Centre, which enables small, self-contained technical environments (or "Containers") to run on the Synology, with various apps that can be downloaded and run from Docker repositories, away from Package Centre (I'm not a massive techie, so may not have explained that entirely accurately, but that's my basic understanding). LMS is available within the Docker environment (versions from 8.0 upwards by the looks of things). I believe not all Synology Diskstations are able to install Docker from the Package Centre - not sure which ones and why, but there was a suggestion that "plus" models (such as my DS218+) are able to, and others perhaps not... Probably worth simply searching for Docker in Package Centre to confirm for yourself. The best instructions I found for installing and configuring Docker and and LMS Container are in 'this post from earlier on in this very thread' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111876-LmsUpdate-and-LmsRepack-Synology-8-0-*-packages=999039=1#post999039). I followed these instructions, plus did a bit of Googling along the way to find out a bit more detail, and have got LMS 8.1 successfully working. I hit a few snags with LMS functionality on the way - such as some plugins not being available in LMS 8.0 and higher (which there's a solution for), and not being able to get LMS to login to my mysqueezebox.com account (which I've yet to find a fix for, and means my Home > Radio shortcuts/apps are unavailable). The progress of my post-installation head scratching can be read 'from this post onwards' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111876-LmsUpdate-and-LmsRepack-Synology-8-0-*-packages=1023564=1#post1023564) for much more info once you get a far as completing LMS Docker container installation. For now, having successfully got 8.1 setup, tested and working in Docker, I've turned it off and have chosen to keep using the 7.9 Package Centre version and to not upgrade Perl - at least until I have a solution to get logged back into mysqueezebox on 8.1 and get my Radio shortcuts back. As far as I am aware, I've not read anyone confirming if Docker Container LMS installations continue to work after upgrading to DSM7. In fact, I've not read confirmation that Docker itself will still work, or be available in Package Centre from DSM7 onwards. I guess we'll determine this in due course...! It's admittedly a fair bit of hassle in order to stay still and keep using the LMS we all know and love, but Docker seems to be the potential solution in order to keep running LMS within the your Synology DS. I'd say it took me about 4-5 hours from start to finish getting it set up, configured and tested. Other options for those who can't download Docker seem to be running LMS on a Raspberry Pi on your home network, with it pointing to the music on your Synology Drive, and your players pointing to the
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
I am coming late to this thread and not caught up on all that is going on around LMS and Synology. I have been running LMS 7.9.1-168 uneventfully on my Synology DS414 for probably 8 or 10 years. I recently had to replace a failed hard drive and took a look at the latest packages and I see that Synology will no longer support LMS. Crazy, eh? I have luckily avoided upgrading to the latest Perl version - which I see breaks LMS - so I will just decline to do that upgrade. Can anyone summarize for me any workarounds or options for continuing to use LMS on Synology? I don't necessarily need the latest LMS or Synology DSM features. It was working perfectly before; old, reliable, stable - could not ask for more. For you guys looking for the last LMS packages for Synology you may try here: https://www.abacus-electronics.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=317 However remember those are outdated already, so preferred way is to. Check the LMS server.log for messages around startup time. In particular any references to TuneIn or RadioTime failing. Other ideas ... is this LMS aware of your mysqueezebox.com account? Do you have a tuneIn.com account (should not be necessary but who knows)?
