Hi,
there is a small program called CTSPD
(ftp://ftp.heise.de/pub/ct/ctsi/ctspd092.zip) that does conformity and
plausibility checks on the EEPROM contents of SDRAM modules. If a module
fails this check, it does not necessarily mean that it is not working
properly, but that the EEPROM data

You don't really expect a 500$ PC to have all the stuff
that is built into a 5000$ machine, do you ?
I think it way off to use software to mask hardware faults.

Hi,
I have two add-ons that i would like to share with others. They have saved
me a lot of time. They are unfortunately not very well documented. I
haven't had time to write any help files. I will put a readme file with the
add-ons that give some instructions about how to use them. I don't
Hi Steve!
Please beware that when you use PcbDirectives *all* items mentioned in
the PcbDirective-menu are placed upon the net. This includes f.e. the
'routing layer' resulting in that the net is*only* routed on that layer
as only one layer can be selected.
Of course you can delete all the
Yes, so I've reverted to changing the PCB editor to Imperial (using Q
shortcut key) before I update from the schematic. I can then set, say
20 (mil) for a track of about 0.5mm, etc.. I then have to change back
to metric, but this is a bit long winded, as I have to do a conversion
everytime.
I am unable to open a Database file with Protel 99 SE with SP6. When I
try to open one, the program gives me the New Design Database dialog.
This installation on my computer used to work.
Did you try repairing the database? This is in the system menu on the far
left under Design

I expect reliability from everything I buy, no matter how cheap or expensive
it is.

Hi Tommy,
I had that problem too. I closed all the files in that database including
the documents folder (only have the .ddb tab and .pcb tab showing) and then
try it again.
Thanks,

I haven't seen it mentioned here (I may have skipped over it) but
those of you who are multi-talented may be interested in the
special offer on the Protel website.
It applies to ATS holders _and_ current P99SE owners. Sign up

I did some further investigation on my system and determined that I had
installed the SWIFT Designer Software Tool from Texas Instruments on the
same day the problem manifested itself. As far as I can tell it must have
written over some critical files. I worked with Protel for several hours
Well,
that date certainly would jive with some recent discussions that I
had with Protel about the ATS support program. I was asked not to quote the
individual but the basic discussion was:
At Protel there was discussed a preliminary date by which all P99SE
users, who purchased
How many of us actually use Protel's support? I know I don't anymore. How
much of a problem would that really be for us if we lost it officially?
The newbies could come here and ask us oldtimers.
