I definitely hammered down the edges of copper rivets on the Quickbeam's B17. I think I also hammered the edges of steel rivets, but I'm not sure. I don't think you'll damage the integrity of a rivet by removing material from its head, but since they're designed to be hammered, I'd try that

I agree about the plugs. I've never gotten them to stay in long without a little adhesive. I have also seen that some of the Brooks tape colors fade due to sun exposure (badly in some cases). I haven't had this problem with the 9 year old honey tape. They've darkened nicely with age. John
