Spectrum was on the air from July 1976 until June 2001 -- 25 years -- before
they purchased a couple of Micor repeaters.
Like I said earlier, I had a Spectrum UHF, I believe it was the S7-R model,
and it had the high stability

Our building isn't climate controlled, but the antenna/system is not
the problem. We tryed replacing everything when we had the desense
problems that turned out to be the duplexers. I'm going to replace the
receiver and see if it still acts up.

Yes,the helical casting is the same as the MII but thats all that is the
same. ExecII uses a different form factor for the IF and it usually has less
poles of filtering. The squelch and audio circuits are on the systems board
and the squelch is single stage,not dual like the MII. They perform well

The VXR_5000 soft ware is dos based, I have found that it has to run
in dos only. Reboot your computer in dos mode, check port settings.
That is a comm error message. A dos window in Windows does not always
work.
