Hello Fulvio,
I believe also that the pgnscid script was not particularly useful and a
little dangerous: it's possible to import multiple png directly from the
GUI and usually you really want a user to supervise such a process in
case of errors.
If I remember correctly I once had problems

:)
Unfortunately pgnscid was not a script but somec++ duplicate

Hi,
please try delete variation: it works for all the use case you described.
On another thought, I have not understood yet, why was necessary to
supress a capability that already worked as expected?
The trial mode is not one of the options on the toolbar.
I checked with SCID 4.5 and can confirm this. The trial mode is not there
anymore.
There used to be a shortcut for this. (Can't recall which - a?) I'd have
to do tests.

Hi,
indeed i removed the trial mode in Scid v.4.6.

There are better solutions to discard the analysis

Indeed,
Trial mode is a good option, because allows several things, without
registering the moves and once finished the variation, returning to the
position where the variation started.
This can be handy in the following situations:

Hi!
When you click on Options- Toolbars, a window should open. There you
can set what items you want to show on the toolbar. It appears that in
version 4.6, it defaults to None.
Hope that helps!
