I think that the calls being discussed here are the calls purporting to come
from Microsoft, not Talks.
These so-called Microsoft Technical Department calls have been happening for
a number of years now.
If, indeed, you are now getting calls purporting to be from Talks then that
is a new scam.

They simply kept on coming back even though it was clear I wasn't
interested.

You may well find that it will slip in the upgrade to Windows 10 as an
optional upgrade. This is pre-checked and will need to be unchecked on each
occasion if you want to prevent it.

Bear in mind that Aaron of GW has already advised that the upgrade file may

need to use some sort of OCR to turn it into text. It may not be a perfect
rendition of the document.
You may be better to contact the document author and ask for an accessible

Press that one.
